Fan-edits?

If you look closely at the current image (04:52, 2 May 2007), you'll see that it seemingly has some cut-and-paste work to fill out some empty areas (almost entirely on the top right part that, I think isn't part of Sinnoh), adding houses, boats. Compare with the first uploaded version of the file (03:56, 2 May 2007), that doesn't have that. My guess is that some fan added these. I'll take the freedom and revert to the first uploaded version. - unsigned comment from Torr3 (talk • contribs)

Game Freak typically releases art without post-game content prior and during release, and later release artwork with the previously obscured details, to prevent spoiling post-game content. Those are not edits made by fans, but official edits caused by there being two versions. --Abcboy (talk) 12:49, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

On closer inspection, you appear to be correct in that these were copied from other parts of the map. (That area by the way, is the Battle Zone, which as I've mentioned above is DPPt post-game content.) --Abcboy (talk) 12:59, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
