As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your uploading:

The Manual of Style, or MoS, outlines the format and guidelines of all images on Bulbagarden Archives.

All of our administrators are here to help! Talk to them if you have any questions or problems with the Archives.

Tagging images with correct licenses and categories is a must. These guidelines will help you learn more about tagging images.

Miscellaneous
  • Please read the checklist when you upload media files. The checklist is there to make sure you are doing everything necessary when uploading said media files.
  • Be sure to tag and categorize all images. This helps organize the vast amount of images we have here.
  • Check if your image already exists by searching through categories, and Bulbapedia pages. This action will help prevent unnecessary duplicates from appearing.
  • When adding a licensing tag to anime or game screenshots, please avoid just choosing "Screenshot". This is not descriptive and places the images in the wrong category. Make sure to choose "Screenshot from a Pokémon game," or "Screenshot from the Pokémon anime." This will put them in the right categories, and help keep the Archives clean.
  • Does your image have a purpose? Will you be using it on a Bulbagarden Project? Avoid uploading images because you think they are "Cute" or "Awesome". That clutters the Archives.
  • Personal images are limited to two for each User. Personal images include personal logos, personal trainer sprites, drawings, trainer cards and mostly any image that would only be used in the User: namespace and have no encyclopedic value to Bulbagarden and its affiliates. Please tag these with the {{i-Personal}} template for easier organization. Under no circumstance should a photograph of one's self ever be uploaded onto Bulbagarden Archives.
  • In addition, please upload images with meaningful names. Names that are just numbers, for example, do not describe anything about the image, and can make it difficult for searchers. Names are just as important as licenses and categories, so make them descriptive. Please be sure that the filenames contain alphanumeric characters only.
  • Due to the many automated templates used on the wiki, lowercase extensions are imperative. That means jpg and png instead of JPG and PNG. It looks cleaner, it works better, and it does not cause any problems. Make sure to always use lowercase extensions.
  • If you're confused about the requirements for uploading files, have a look at this guide.

I'm actually okay with it, I like doing it one by one, checking any visible differences from the RS sprites, better to be a steady tortoise than a speedy (and possibly messy) hare. :P Masatoshitalk 21:06, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, one by one. Once I'm done with the sprites I delete them to prevent in the folder I store them in (which is by the way called "footprint" leftover from my footprint uploading days.) from clutter. APNGs

One thing I forgot to tell you, make sure the first frame of the animation is set at 0ms (set it to skip this first frame) and actually has a shot of the move in action so that people without APNG support can at least see the move, instead of just a normal looking screen. I tried to upload animated version of SelfDestruct but... damn, upload does nothing... It says "waiting for achives.bulbagarden.net" or what the hell it said... After page finishes "loading", I am still on upload page...this equals to wasting time. Also, there is way to decrease file size? 97 frame animation's size is 2,45 MB... What you mean by "What are you using?" - If you mean how I upload...well I just upload directly by upload media button... It looks that file is just too big, because I uploaded Bite in third generation with 40 frames (yeah, suprisingly short) and about 1MB, and in first* generation, with 39 frames and 352 KB (Generation I has less complex graphics and in effect animation has smaller size), both uploaded without bigger problems. I don't know HOW, but I got 19 (NINETEEN[!]) frames on Tackle in Generation I, with ONLY 3(!!!) being animation, the other 16 is "yyy used xxx!" What the hell? Yes, I was the one, I'm trying to check if you follow the same procedure I have done, it seems that you do, you don't have to worry about the file size, however, if some of them exceeds the 2 MB limit, give it to me so I can upload it instead. Also, for steadiness, I'd ask you to rather follow a move list in alphabetic order, pick a generation and start from Absorb 'till last move, please. That way, it's easier for us to track which ones aren't moving or the ones that need an animation, you should check the moves list in Bulbapedia for an accurate listing, click to toggle the Generation one, and do that one and the previous ones (if that's the case).
And don't be surprised for the frames, remember that Generation I was pretty simple on moves + everything white + shitty graphics, especially with Tackle and Leer, by far the most basic moves. Also, please, sign EVERY new comment you do (even the P.S. ones), that way I know when you replied. D: Masatoshitalk 21:28, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

Counter (Generation I)

I can't find Pokémon with which it would work. I tried with Pidgey's Quick Attack, but every time it's says that it (Counter) missed. Any ideas on what Pokémon I should try using it? Note that in Generation I it works only with Normal-type or Fightning-type moves. I skipped it, to do rest of moves. (I also skipped: Bide, because I don't have that TM and Clamp, because of version-exclusive Pokémon) Marked +-+-+ 18:41, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Japng

What settings should I use when I create an animation with Japng? At the moment I just set the display time to 16 ms and leave everything else blank. Frugali 03:43, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Well, depends on the power of the computer and the FPS set. In DPPt I use 33ms/F, in BW I use 40~44ms/F. Masatoshitalk 03:54, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Server malfunction?

I checked Drill Peck. One time it says that there is no such file, one time it is... In Drill Peck article when I used "Show preview", picture was, but now I see just "File:Drill Peck I.png" in red... If you were able to go through the upload form and were directed to the file again, then it got uploaded, however, due to server sync related issues, you might have to reload the page in order to see it, or at least purging it by clicking on the clock right at the left of your nick, which is on the top left corner of your screen. Anyways, the file can be seen, although it can only be seen with underscores currently, so I'll take a wild guess and say it's because of sync problems (has happened before, will happen again). But yeah, if you upload it, go through the upload form, it's been uploaded and can be seen anywhere (if we expect the person who uploaded it to not change the link first on Bulbapedia). Haze

It's animation in Generation I is very fast... I will have to skip it, at least for now... Still Counter is biggest problem, as for now, I have how it works in this generation I... PS.Is there is a list of ALL moves that ARE in Generation III (NOT introduced, a list of moves in total), sorted alphabetically? That would help with Generation III. You could sort them through Generations and start from the first one that is in III and keep on it until you finish Generations II and I. Also, if the animation is too fast, then slow it down. Masatoshitalk 05:07, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

That's a LOT for this generation. Now I will have to "fix" text (All STATUS changes are eliminated) with Paint (copy and paste method), since game for no reason speeded up there (and ONLY there)... When I say "slow down", I'm talking about the frames, add some FPS until you deem the animation accurate. Also, here's a tip; from now on, after getting the animated png, use this optimizer, it will greatly reduce the amount of space it takes for one to animate these files, have you seen I'm normally getting less than one MB now? Yes, it's because the program tries to get rid of any useless frame/part of image and thus makes it lighter. You will see a lot of "glitched" animations, but any browser will show it properly. Masatoshitalk 22:43, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Regarding ArtChampions.png

I uploaded ArtChampions.png (the character artwork of the main series League Champions) for use on the Pokémon Champion page, which previously contained sprites but no character artwork. If that seems unnecessary by Bulbapedia's standards (and indeed said revision was undone minutes after its completion), then by all means remove the picture. ...and I see someone already has. Japanese Thunderbolt.

Just uploaded. About 148 frames (~1,5MB before and 742KB after optimizing)... Japanese Yellow uses new animation (that toned down and shorter), not sure which one is used in Japanese Blue (Note:Probably old, due to Japanese Blue [{not so} obviously] being released before Red and Blue). Does Mv template is capable of saying "Red and Green"? Also, SonicBoom in Japanese Gold differs from the in international Silver or Crystal. (I have no idea if it still in Japanese Crystal. check Trivia section of SonicBoom). Marked +-+-+ 13:27, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Well Amnesia got 2.5MB after optimizing, but that's nothing compared to Blizzard - 329 (330 with "skip first frame" stuff) frames (giving about 11,5MB... obviously before optimizing) And that's enough frames to get Exception in JapngEditor. x_x Marked +-+-+ 16:48, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

That's because, unlike in other generations, Amnesia has moving background. As I saw, in Gen IV and Gen V, background is just plain black, while in Gen II and Gen I well... they're enough old to not have background... Gen III looks like this. Marked +-+-+ 17:10, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

"Image failed to upload" stuff. >_< Confuse Ray - 294 frames (technically less but it includes the "it's confused" animation)... EXCEPTION AGAIN... (I guess it stops working at about 300 frames...) I'll guess now I will record HMs in overworld (and moves like Flash or Sweet Scent in overworld) before continuing on in-battle animation. They need two animations both... one with normal attack and second after powered-up by Fusion Flare/Fusion Bolt

Animated PNG help?

I was wondering of you know how to upload animated PNG images? I've asked Pattyman, and he said you or Marked would maybe know about this sort of thing. I've tried uploading one in both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, and it doesnt seem to work in either browser. You're welcome, if you need my help, I'll be there. They don't animate unless you're in a browser that supports it (Firefox, for instance), AND they won't animate if they are thumbnailed. See the moves I'm animating? They move because the infobox doesn't thumbnail it. Masatoshitalk 07:21, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
I would suggest resizing them so that the width is 150px so that it doesn't get resized by the anime move box, because if an APNG is resized by MediaWiki it loses its animation. It would also decrease the file size. --SnorlaxMonster 09:11, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
I've resized it to 150 width by 120 height (the size is much better, now only 338KB), but its still not animating in the move box? Do both need to be 150 (it would make it look a bit square though)? Oh, and I'm using Firefox. Vuvuzela2010 15:48, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

By the way of animated PNG files, have you got any idea for the exception (click here) I counted that 5 animations got exception (Blizzard, Confuse Ray, Fly Dream Eater and recently, Fire Spin). Marked +-+-+ 10:48, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Try not thumbnailing the file, if you're using "thumb", it's small so there's no need of having it thumbnailed. And regarding Marked: it means that the file is too large and it exceeds the memory the application is granted. You'll have to edit it with APNG Anime Maker. It does not support first frame skip, though, you'll have to use APNG Anime Maker first, set it up, save it, optimize it, and then use one of the untouched frames (from the folder the files are in) as the first frame. Ugh. Checked two animations... Confuse Ray - the ducks (I animated from move to "xxx is Confused" part :p) leave a "trail" that makes that part more transparent (or brighter... it just looked more "whiter", idk if it's even a word)... Fly in Overworld - Well... looks fairly right. Bulba's having issues lately. Yeah, when you're using Anime APNG Maker, things will go a bit slower, especially when you're not used to it. Maybe you changed some settings in the Anime APNG Maker? I'd advise you not to touch a thing if you did. Masatoshitalk 21:51, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

How do I handle this situation?

I don't know who to ask specifically about this, but I'd like to upload some replacement pictures, specifically animated png versions of Psystrike and Pay Day. Er... well, this is a pickle. I'm recording them at the same speed the game plays, and I don't press a thing (So the text autocancels by itself). The only difference I guess is that I set the ingame text to fast. Since I thought people would want to see the move in action or something. And I haven't had a problem reading the text. So... I guess I'll wait to see what you have to say then. I won't be looking forward to remaking 100+ animated PNGs, though. I've been at this the past few days while I had no internet and it kinda sucks to see that they're all obsolete. Sorry about the sudden new comment, but I just realized a few things. Like how I can just set up examples to help things along. Do you like mid speed or slow speed? I'm probably not gonna set up the text speed like that for the move announcement since, you know. People know the move by the time they see the image. And as far as I've seen every other image doesn't scroll the text on the move announcement. But I'll change up the text speed for any image I've made that involves text that pops up after the move (like for status moves). I'm NOT changing the animation speed though. 16ms is the exact same speed the game plays, and I've done side-by-side comparisons between the PNGs I've made and my own game. I'd like to keep the animation speed the same as the game for accurate re-enactment. Also I don't like that second-length pause. It's kinda long and disorienting. Though I guess to some that sudden shift would be disorienting. Still, I personally think the shift is a pretty good transition myself (Especially since the game usually has some frames or even a second of cooldown before the damage flash) but eh, you're the mod, not me. Well, some will need to be remade, but I can back you up on those. Regarding the animation guidelines, there isn't one written, but:
  • Frame speed should range between 30~40 ms, in doubt, just ask and show proof.
  • Last frame should have a pause of 1000ms.
  • Text speed should be normal.
  • The text is automatic, even if you don't press any button, the text will go through after a certain amount of time, so let it flow.
  • Same goes for the animation for the stats either going up or down.
  • Every file shall have a first frame for browsers that do not support animated png.
  • With certain exceptions, the last frame should be the first one that shows the foe's information after the Pokémon attack.
  • Moves that attack consecutively, for example.
  • Animations with attacks that hit several turns later should not include the foe's move unless the move used by the Pokémon gets benefits from it (i.e.: Bide).
All I can think of at the moment. Also. I have that speed because that's what people with the game and the console had advised me, I've shown them countless images, and they say the speed I did is good enough, so that's why I'm suggesting it. Although a person I'm asking about this says it's fine, but PsychicRider tells me that yours are too fast (he has both games and a console), and that they should be slowed down. Movegen infobox was updated for 3D games (Battle Revolution, Colloseum, XD, Stadium, Stadium 2). Also, stuff like Weather Ball (including ???-type, which is done for XD) or Curse... Gonna add Fury Swipes, Fury Attack and Fly, then switch to directly by alphabet, not by generation then by alphabet (say thanks to this), and that means I will start with Aerial Ace after switching (since this is first move available in Gen III games and not done yet in these games). Basically I make an animated png in APNG Anime Maker, open it in Gimp (version 2.7.3 with an APNG plug-in) and re-save it (This time while forcing it to skip the first frame), and then I optimize it with the APNG Optimizer. If I had a way to skip the first frame and set the speed fast without crashing when there's more than 460-ish frames I'd use that but I have no idea where to find such. At least I have something that works. Anyhow, got another file that's too big for me to upload:

As I mentioned before this is more or less 60 frames per second, so see if this works for you since it should be game-accurate speed. Probably should have thrown it in earlier but I recall hearing how slower was usually better or something. Once I've got this confirmed I'll upload the nine 4th gen moves I've recorded so far.

Sprite Constraints

There is a guideline that says that Gen IV sprites should be in an 80x80 box. However, when trying to animate a Regigigas sprite (Diamond and Pearl) the recording shows it jumping around way out of these constraints. What to do?--Chalkwriter 19:46, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

More APNG help

So, I uploaded several .apngs of moves from Gen III, and the problem is that I don't know how to change the first thumbnail to one for browsers that don't support .apng animations. The method I used was to record the animation on vba with Hypercam, create a .gif from the resulting video, then convert that to an .apng file. It works fine in Firefox, but Chrome shows only the first frame. Marked +-+-+ also talked about changing the speed of different actions in the animation (text speed, etc.), although I don't see why that is an issue. I think if I can at least get the thumbnail correct, it should be fine. Please help! --Jdthebud 05:33, 5 November 2011 (UTC)

Thanks to Photoshop and animget (this makes .bmp every 10ms, do not use it all full screen, but at normal, default size). Photostop converts it into .png via... I think it was called batching or something, I don't remember.... And then I make apng in Japng editor (or, in case of 220+ frames, APNG Anime Maker as japng editor runs out of memory in bigger animations). Frame 0 represents the still frame for browsers that don't support animated .pngs, and I click skip first frame to make it not appear in animation, yet be saw in thumbnail (like this. After making animation, I optimize it to make it fit in limit (though that failed for Blizzard and Dream Eater due to background). And the text... if text is too fast people won't be able to read it. I saw few times where text was too fast, and I couldn't read it. Masatoshi gave links for programs I need. Marked +-+-+ 12:31, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
Here's what I ended up doing. I loaded the apng I made already into JapngEditor (it loads frames from apng but not gif), then took a screenshot of the thumbnail for nonsupported browsers and inserted it at the top and skipped the first frame. Then I played around a bit with the frame speed (mostly first and last) where applicable (didn't fool around much with the actual move animation speed, as it was good already) and saved it. Checking it out, it showed the thumbnail in Chrome and the animation in Firefox. This won't work for the long animations that need APNG Anime Maker, as it won't load the inidividual frames from anpg or gif files, but I don't think any of the moves I uploaded (except maybe Rock Blast or something) will need me to use AnimGet and APNG Anime Maker. gen IV move animations

So now I want to try and do some gen IV move animations. Should I use no$gba or Desmume? I just don't know which one gives the best representation of the DS animation for the Gen IV games. I've heard that no$gba doesn't render transparency at all, but Desmume seems to have it's own problems rendering animations, especially in Platinum. HG/SS seems to be fine, though. I would use Desmume, because no$gba does have a problem in the fact that it doesn't transparentise at all (meaning there are loads of black patches; see this as an example). Desmume also runs at the speed of the computer, so the animation speed is always the same.--Chalkwriter 17:10, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

Okay, I think I know what the issue might have been. I was using the recording feature on Desmume, and that when I noticed that the screen would be overly bright, making moves like Dark Pulse be ethereal. When I checked again by playing normally, the animations seem to be fine, if only a bit different with transparency. The animation should be doable for Rescue Team, but not for other games, since the program screenshots more than I need (just the shiny star had to be done with the help of Paint and GIMP). I recorded them directly from the game, though the window was twice as big as it should be (480x320 instead of 240x160), so screenshots were also, and they got resized when batching in Photoshop, since it was set to save files in resolution 240x160. B2W2

As animation of some moves changed between DPPt and HGSS, so that happened to BW and B2W2. Double-Edge, Freeze Shock, Ice Burn, Psychic, Superpower and Waterfall are uploaded (though Kyurem's signatures not by me), Flare Blitz in better quality will be uploaded when I will be able to. Absorb, Aerial Ace and Searing Shot also have new animations (thought wasn't sure about the second one until someone else confirmed it; before I was thinking it's an error or something). Oh god, moving files without creating redirect would make it much better (as I manually delete redirect and upload files. Sorry if I bloated the edit summary, but yeah, this is the first Wiki I've uploaded an image to that is actually hosted at a sister Wiki (obviously I've done others at Wikipedia that are hosted, well, at Wikipedia, not Commons). As for the image, I can truthfully say I didn't do anything to blow it up; that's the size I got the image at; also, doesn't high quality violate something in the fair use guidelines? I know from Wikipedia when uploading, for instance, an album cover (example of copyrighted material), high resolution is forbidden and would be deleted if uploaded. If it's actually blown up somehow as I added it, a reduced version can be made. In the spot I used it, it actually is under the 250 px resolution which I found on an image in another article.

I'll have to learn what this BP template is (I know that's a template hence the curly braces - again, longtime Wikipedian here), and categorizing...well, first image uploaded, and found it finally allowed me to upload after a month of lockdown, so I was happy just to get it up and didn't think about categories or how to do them (as again, it's something I've never had to worry about before); perhaps guidance on that might help. =) Nonetheless, I don't foresee myself uploading a large number of images, and for all I know this could be my only one as I tend to look more at text editing, so it may not be an issue in the end.

Our guidelines are different to Wikipedia's. We want the best quality possible. Remember we are not Bulbapedia in this specific site, it's a sister wiki and as such should be linked properly, either as [[bp:Opelucid City]] or {{bp|Opelucid City}}. The resolution subject at Bulbapedia is probably because it's a thumbnail and it appears fine that way, but when we click it, it doesn't look really good. The {{bp}} template allows us to link to an article in Bulbapedia, it's just like using the external link to a sister wiki. Category:Images will help you on where to add your file to, take a good look at it and you'll understand, we're not that complicated :P. By the way, yeah, from now on, if you upload any further images, try to not cut back on the name, see if there's a pattern for the image you're uploading and name it as it should be like. As I'm not in possession of White 2, I don't have the ability to get a good-quality image; it would take me forever to get to that image, too.
I found a video (Black 2 though) where a guy walks right through the fence (cheats obviously) and shows the fence on the other side, plows through THAT and into the forest. The music even changes (different theme) as if Route 10 was originally there without a gatehouse, but no Route 10 marker comes up. I think Route 10 might have been included initially, but perhaps the theme belongs to the default border trees themselves, not what would have been Route 10. Too bad they didn't find a way to reopen part of it after beating the E4 (in other words, script the construction barriers and blocking fence away); it would have been a great way to hide a super item or TM.
I'll keep that in mind on the filename in the future, and if someone is playing in Opelucid maybe I can get a save state of it or something to capture the higher-quuality image quickly. At worst, I'm sure a better version can be added on top by someone who wants to improve it. For reference, what dimensions should a screenshot be? Castform and Cherrim minisprites

There's problem. HGSS added static minisprites of their forms. BW the animated ones. The problem's, BW changed Cherrim's Sunshine minisprite (the one we currently have is HGSS's one, though planning to upload the BW one, reupload HGSS one at different name and put it into the article, since it is technically used in the HGSS Pokédex)... Plus they all exist since HGSS (animated ones since G5; Cherrim has that trolly thing with two static minis, first used in HGSS, second for G5 {{.}}_{{.}}), so you can't say "This is the menusprite of #351 Castform from the Generation III, IV, and V Pokémon games." on Rainy Form's sprite, since it's not truth; and yes I checked Platinum, and seeing only the "female/male" for them. Alright. First of all, sorry for taking so long to reply. Now, I checked through every picture you uploaded, and I concede that all of them are legit errors. However, I checked these pictures with Kogoro just to make sure about whether including all of them or not. The ones that got deleted were not important enough, and she alongside Werdnae decided the following:
  • No more than five error images per episode should be uploaded, unless an exemption is made by the Bulbapedia Editorial Board.
  • In the case of there being more than five images, the most significant and certain errors will be kept.
    • Any other errors can be noted in the episode errors section, but without an image.
  • Summaries need to be easy to read. Some of the summaries given might not convey the intended meaning.

Question about Return Gen III move animation

Not sure if you are the best person to ask, but I was wondering what the policy should be in recording the Gen III Return move animation. Since different levels of friendship result in different move animations, should I record all of them and put them in one file, or just one? Well, I could be wrong, but I think that just showing one animation (highest friendship level) will be enough for now. If we do end up needing more, we'll use those. Regarding the animated file, did you optimize it? That could trim its size if it hasn't yet. Otherwise, you could cut a few frames when May is underwater. Sprite gifs to png?

Do we want current animated sprites that are in gif form (Crystal, Emerald, Pinball, Trozei) to be anipng, or does it matter since the quality is the same regardless? Reason I'm asking is because I am going to make the Pinball animated sprites transparent, and they are currently in gif form. Uploading move animations that are over 2MB

Hi there, I have been completing the new B2W2 move animations, and have several that are over 2MB in size. Does the Source URL tool work in the Upload menu, or do I have to give it to someone else here to upload? Jdthebud (talk) 19:58, 12 March 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I use Apng Assembler, which optimizes it automatically, and running it through the optimizer actually increases the size sometimes lol. So no way to reduce the file sizes, especially for the moves with more arty graphics like Nightmare and Sacred Fire, and long moves like V-Create. I may also try to get a better quality version of some moves I already uploaded that will be bigger since I took frames out of them to make it smaller. Here are ones I have right now. Again, these are for B2W2 move animations.

Garchomp Mega Evolving image (large file size)

I uploaded a sample of Garchomp Mega Evolving, with the animation running at 5 fps. That was the best frame rate I could get and come under the Archives size limit, but it's kind of choppy. I'd like to offer some alternatives at higher frame rates and larger file sizes, so that maybe you (or someone) could upload a better quality file where I can't.

If there's some combination of/modification to the above that you'd like to see, just ask.

(All of the above start at the transformation's beginning, and don't have an "ideal" initial frame. If you tell me which version you're partial to, I can easily adjust that. The problem with these images is that they are too busy and contain a lot of information. That will make the files too heavy even while optimized. While it's a good idea to animate these, we don't think we need these for the moment, especially since they are too heavy. We can allow animated images slight above the 2 MB limit, but going from 4 to 24 MB is too much and will take a toll on those who need to pay based on their internet traffic, not to mention that no image should be as heavy as this. Second of all, this looks like taken from YouTube and the quality is not high enough. If we were to try animating these, we ought to have a capture card device with us to have the best quality. Imagine how heavy the image would be if the quality was clean. A YouTube video showing how the Mega Evolution works would be the best solution for now, so I'm sorry for putting down your work like this. Masatoshi talk 20:48, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

I actually made an animation for Mud Shot first, at 30 fps, and that was 20 KB over 2 MB (1 KB when optimized as much as possible, but that one took forever to finish). Speed of Emerald animated sprites

I have noticed that a lot of the Emerald animated sprites are faster than the in-game speed, such as Mudkip. Is this intentional?
