Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, AndyPKMN! As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your uploading:

Manual of Style The Manual of Style, or MoS, outlines the format and guidelines of all images on Bulbagarden Archives. List of Admins All of our administrators are here to help! Talk to them if you have any questions or problems with the Archives. Tagging Guidelines Tagging images with correct licenses and categories is a must. These guidelines will help you learn more about tagging images.

Miscellaneous Please read the checklist when you upload media files. The checklist is there to make sure you are doing everything necessary when uploading said media files. Be sure to tag and categorize all images. This helps organize the vast amount of images we have here. Check if your image already exists by searching through categories, and Bulbapedia pages. This action will help prevent unnecessary duplicates from appearing. When adding a licensing tag to anime or game screenshots, please avoid just choosing "Screenshot". This is not descriptive and places the images in the wrong category. Make sure to choose "Screenshot from a Pokémon game," or "Screenshot from the Pokémon anime." This will put them in the right categories, and help keep the Archives clean. Does your image have a purpose? Will you be using it on a Bulbagarden Project? Avoid uploading images because you think they are "Cute" or "Awesome". That clutters the Archives. Personal images are limited to two for each User. Personal images include personal logos, personal trainer sprites, drawings, trainer cards and mostly any image that would only be used in the User: namespace and have no encyclopedic value to Bulbagarden and its affiliates. Please tag these with the {{i-Personal}} template for easier organization. Under no circumstance should a photograph of one's self ever be uploaded onto Bulbagarden Archives. In addition, please upload images with meaningful names. Names that are just numbers, for example, do not describe anything about the image, and can make it difficult for searchers. Names are just as important as licenses and categories, so make them descriptive. Please be sure that the filenames contain alphanumeric characters only. Due to the many automated templates used on the wiki, lowercase extensions are imperative. That means jpg and png instead of JPG and PNG. It looks cleaner, it works better, and it does not cause any problems. Make sure to always use lowercase extensions. UGHH

Game screenshots are not supposed to be in the game maps category. It is only supposed to be the man made maps that users make them selves, or scans from guide books. ^Maverick_Nate 20:04, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Oh geez. I'm so sorry. I just couldn't help noticing how inconsistent the organization of the Gen IV maps were, and wanted to help. Aren't most of these made by people personally stitching screenshots and such together anyway? I tried to only move ones that were veritable maps, and not just screenshots directly from the games. But hold on, how are they made? I want to get this right this time. Are Gen IV maps, corrected of perspective, supposed to be considered maps or screenshots? How much does a screenshot or group of screenshots need to be changed to be considered a map? I can still go back and undo most of what I changed (after all, I really only inserted the coding for that one category). Categories

Put these on the page in square brackets, as you do with links. Using curly brackets will transclude the category on the page = in other words, mirror the content of the category onto the page, which puts any text on the category page on the file summary as well. —darklordtrom 20:39, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Deletion alert

Whenever you want something deleted, it is much more obvious to place the {{delete}} tag somewhere on the image page, specifically in the summary. It helps admins find them, because it puts them directly into the delete category. Remember to do this next time. ^Maverick_Nate 21:31, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
