Welcome

Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, Carmenstar97!
Bulbagarden Archives bulb.png

By creating your account you are now able to upload images to help Bulbapedia and Bulbanews. Before you jump in, take a look at these helpful tips:

  • Uploaded images must meet several requirements. Please see the upload form and/or manual of style before you upload a new image.
  • All images need categories and license tags. Save time and fill them out as you upload. There are many different licenses - be sure to pick the best fit.
  • Use meaningful filenames. Make them descriptive so that searchers can find your images easily.
  • You may have up to two personal images. All other images are expected to be for encyclopedic/news value.
  • If you don't have any images to submit, you can still help out.
  • If you have any more questions, see the FAQ or ask a staff member.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

Congrats

I know you'll make us proud on here like you do on Bulbapedia. I have faith in you. Welcome to the team. :D --P S Yライダー 02:51, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Can you check in on this?

I was browsing around and found this. Being new on the archives I was hoping you would know what to do. Truthseeker4449 00:40, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

It is fanfiction, which is no longer alowed. It appears to be from a Bulbagarden contest in 2008. Vuvuzela2010 01:03, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
There are still 38 fanfiction entries on the archives. Should they be deleted? Vuvuzela2010 01:07, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Those guys

Can you check the IP address of the guy who got recently blocked and the other ones who were making fake pages? Pattyman 03:49, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Deleted Redirects

Those redirects you deleted last night, did you check for occurrences on the pedia that used the redirects? Because I've come across a few broken links from the batch you deleted last night. --Spriteit (talk) 08:05, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Well, I had assumed that whoever moved the files changed the filenames on BP since having the ability to move files comes with some responsibility...I guess I won't be able to do that in the future. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 21:15, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Reverted picture update

Why did you revert the new image of Pikachu I uploaded? Wouldn't it make sense to use an image from Unova? The one that he has now is from Sinnoh. MIKORO (talk to me) 04:21, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

The current one is from Unova, not Sinnoh. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 04:22, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
No it isn't. The current one is a screenshot of Pikachu getting ready to battle Tobias's Latios, which was in the Lily of the Valley Conference in Sinnoh. MIKORO (talk to me) 04:37, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
Even if that's the case, the image you uploaded does not meet the 4:3 ratio requirements, is of slightly blurry quality, and is a bit "awkward." If you can find a better image that has dimensions 1,280 × 720, is in HD, and is not so "awkward," feel free to upload it. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 04:46, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
You need to be more specific. What do you mean by "awkward"? MIKORO (talk to me) 17:48, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
Perhaps "awkward" might not be the word to describe it, but it was the best that I could think of to describe the image in simplest terms. Compare the current image to the one you uploaded. The one you uploaded shows Pikachu in a battling position, with his mouth open and all four legs planted on the ground. The image expresses a sense of anticipation and expectation that leads to nowhere because the image does not show any climax, causing the image to be anticlimactic. On the other hand, the current image has a sense of finality and certainty to it. For an image of such an important character as Ash's Pikachu, I'd say that the current one is more appropriate. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 20:08, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
So what you're saying is if I want to use a picture from Unova, I will have to find one in which Pikachu is not on all fours and has his mouth closed? MIKORO (talk to me) 02:10, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
Use your best judgment. If you're uncertain about a certain image, you probably should not upload it. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 03:55, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
Gotcha. the great MIKORO (talk to me) 15:45, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Tonny

There are two users named Tonny30 and Tonny45 who have identical accounts of a spambot named Tonny89. Good job on deleting those redirects by the way. Pattyman (talk) 12:41, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

Message

You're awesome gal, can you make more overworld models from Gen VI, please? --HoopsterJohn (talk) 19:30, 1 June 2016 (UTC)

I wish I could, but as of right now I don't have any means of doing so. Also, please insert new message at the bottom of talk pages; thanks. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 19:34, 1 June 2016 (UTC)

Unova maps

In case of Castelia and old Victory Road (at least the outside), you may want to dig around in the game's code for models (or something), as the way I did maps* gave really weird effects for these two (forcing a specific type of camera). Eridanus (talk) 07:26, 17 June 2016 (UTC)

Dash GBA Insert Images

Hi, I was told I cannot upload images to the site yet. I have two images for the Dual-Slot Mode page, which show the difference between the EUR/USA and KOR/JP Dash GBA insert displays. Could you upload the two images in this Tweet to that page: https://twitter.com/ItsProfOak/status/773982531800616960 Thanks, Togami - unsigned comment from Collector Togami (talkcontribs)

Do you have non-zoomed-in, .png versions of those images? As in, in their natural size. And without the black border. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 21:21, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
I used the screenshot feature on Desmume to get them as pngs on their natural size. Shows the bottom screen as well, if you are interested in that. http://imgur.com/a/wyLBL - unsigned comment from Collector Togami (talkcontribs)
Sorry for the delay, your images are now uploaded. Feel free to insert them onto the page. Also, for future reference, please remember to always sign your talk page comments with four tildes ~~~~. Thanks! --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 00:24, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

Team Base images

Hello, I was wondering if you could upload the images needed for the Team Base article found here. I also marked File:Team Base Pikachu interior.pngFile:Team Base Bulbasaur interior.pngFile:Team Base Mudkip interior.pngFile:Team Base Charmander interior.png for move since they are not in line with the rest of the Team Base images as they are called [Team Base X [new] interior] --Raltseye (talk) 18:55, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

Done. The exterior renovation images are supposed to have different icons for different Pokémon, but for something as minor as that, I have neither the patience nor the Photoshop skills to create separate images. It should be fine, though. Also, as a general note...whenever someone's uploading or moving images, allow them a little time to add them/change the file names on Bulbapedia. Not only to prevent edit conflicts, but also as an act of common courtesy. Thank you. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 23:09, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
Okay thank you very much for the help! Also sorry about that Bulby thing I just happen to see that you had moved the images but not changed at Bulbapedia so I figured I'd change them myself. I know I shouldn't have, won't do that again. --Raltseye (talk) 23:19, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

S&M VS model fixes

I see you're uploading corrected, centered versions of Sun and Moon VS models. I of course appreciate that, and as such, I'd like to ask you something. You may already be going through all the models to make sure all faulty ones are fixed, but I'd just like to put my mind at ease by asking you to fix the female Team Skull Grunt model, which has bugged me for quite some time already. Hope you won't mind fixing this. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 07:01, 26 December 2016 (UTC) PS. Happy Boxing Day!

Thank you very much! :) --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:09, 26 December 2016 (UTC)

Can you do this?

Incompleteness really bothers me, which is why 1) I really, really appreciate your work of uploading missing VS models, and 2) I am now here to ask you something. It really bugs me that we're still missing some VS models from Generation VI, most notably including Zinnia and Archie's models (Gaspershut recently uploaded Maxie's model, so that's off the list), but we're also still missing Brendan and May's models with Mega Bracelets and Calem's model with Mega Ring. Since your usertags on Bulbapedia tell me that you apparently have a copy of Pokémon X, I wondered if you could upload Calem's VS model with Mega Ring. I'd request the missing ORAS models too, but those Trainers can't be rematched during the post-game, so I'm excluding them from my request list for now. I'd really like if you were able to do this. X and Y came out in 2013, and this is 2017. I think it would be about damn time. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 06:56, 15 January 2017 (UTC)

I've got a lot on my personal to-do list that takes priority, but I'll get to this eventually. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 13:16, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
Thanks. That's perfectly fine by me. I'm not in any kind of a rush with this thing. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 14:00, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
I saw this morning that you had fulfilled my request. Thank you very much. Also, and I hope I'm not being too pushy here, can you, at some point, upload the Sundae Dress model from XY (I'm asking that specifically because the Bamboo Sprig Hat model has been sitting all alone on Kiloude City's page for ages) and the missing Decoration models from ORAS? You can take your time, of course. As long as they get at some point done by somebody, I'll be happy. Incompleteness really bothers me. Thank you in advance, whatever your answer will be. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 19:12, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
I'm not quite sure/haven't really bothered figuring out how to dig into the game's code to extract models and such, so at the moment I can't really do much beyond screenshots. As for the decoration models, I know that Chenzw uploaded quite a few last June, though for whatever reason they haven't been put on the actual decoration page. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 19:51, 4 February 2017 (UTC)

Artwork upload

Hello. I was wondering, could you perhaps upload some artwork from the Pokémon Sun & Pokémon Moon: The Official Strategy Guide? If you don't have the vault edition (and if I read the MoS correctly), you should even be able to take it from their side, right?

Also, unrelated, but if you do have a capture device (and not yet completed the game I guess), I would also appreciate it if you were able to take some pictures of Nebby. Nescientist (talk) 14:04, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

I personally don't have the guidebook, and we'd really prefer scans done by our own members over ones from other websites.
I can take some screenshots of Nebby. Do you have any specific scenes in mind? --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 02:09, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
That's very unfortunate in this case, then. And I mean not only because they're all awesome, but also because we otherwise have no concept art at all, and because some of the locations do provide "new" official names.
Great, thanks! The way I set up the page, it's delibarately Cosmog-centric, and honestly I always had that close up in front of the Dimensional Research Lab in mind. But maybe something more "active" would make sense, too, most likely that bridge scene (you don't ever see it using a move I guess). In addition, that Cosmoem close-up at Aether Paradise could maybe also be valuable elsewhere. The final evolution cutscene is also great (but I imagine it could be too version-specific). Nescientist (talk) 16:25, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
I'm indecisive, so...take your pick? I might tackle the evolution cutscenes at a later time. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 23:19, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
Thanks. I'm a little indecisive as well, so I'll just think out loud. What I do not like much is the textboxes, the slope/tree background, too much Moon being visible or only Lusamine's box. Malaho4 is my favorite picture overall by far (like stylistically/art-wise), but it may not be the best choice for the Nebby article—I think that might be dimlab4, and/or malaho12 ("active"). Anyway, thanks for your efforts. Nescientist (talk) 19:15, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay. The requested images have been uploaded. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 00:52, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
No problem, and thanks again. Aaand I guess you may as well upload one of the Cosmoem images.^^ Nescientist (talk) 11:14, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

Shuffle Icons and XY Ball Icons

I'm guessing that autoconfirmed users on Archives is different from the ones on Bulbapedia? I can edit semi-protected pages there that blocks out non-autoconfirmed users, but I'm still denied permission to upload images here. As such, I believe I have to trouble you regarding this matter. I really do apologize for the inconvenience. There are over 160 new Shuffle sprites that has been released onto the internet. Some of the icons should not be uploaded until their release (since we can't be sure of how to name them). Basically, all the main game icons with the exception of Pikachu variants. The Winking icons can be added as there was precedent. Here are the files uploaded by a kind stranger. As for the XY ball icons I'm talking about, I mean the Energy Shot in Super Training. I feel like the icons could be useful in illustrating the shot types. I'm not sure if it has ever been uploaded, but I couldn't find it used anywhere. I do have those files (directly ripped from the game) with me though. If you're busy, then that's fine too. I do hope that someone in Archives can get to it. Regardless, thank you for taking the time to read my request. Sucoleo (talk) 15:21, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

Carmenstar asked me to try to help you with this question as I used to update Shuffle content, but I have not played for a few months so don't know where the game has gone of late. Can you tell me more about these icons so that I can understand, and what items are released and not? I can upload images, but of course I don't want to upload anything not able to be uploaded yet. CycloneGU (talk) 18:14, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

Upload authorization

Hello I'm kind of new, but i would like to know how or when I can get the authorization to upload image. Im working on the page Coin (TCG), I did the Gen VII and I would like to continue working on it by uploading some pictures. Jeebee93 (talk) 03:58 11 July 2017 (UTC)

You must be an autoconfirmed user in order to upload images. To become autoconfirmed on the Archives, you have to have made a certain number of edits on the Archives and have your Archives account exist for a certain number of days (specific numbers aren't revealed to the public). After these two requirements are fulfilled, the system will automatically make your account autoconfirmed. Some types of edits you can make include categorizing existing images that are missing some needed categories or adding the appropriate license tags to existing images that don't have them. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 17:56, 11 July 2017 (UTC)
Thank you, I don't really know on what i can work on the archives if I can't upload... Can you guide me? Jeebee93 (talk) 02:34 12 July 2017 (UTC)
One task you could do is making sure the images on Pokémon: Magikarp Jump are all properly categorized and tagged (I know for a fact that there are some that are currently not) and linking to Bulbapedia where necessary.
For example, the images under the Food section could have additional links to Bulbapedia (done by using the {{bp}} template). If the food item has an existing article on Bulbapedia (which seems to be all but Magikarp Biscuit), add a link to it in the file summary. Also, if the image is of a Berry, then place it in [[Category:Berries]].
I hope this helps! --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 03:33, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for your help, i got my authorization! Before uploading some files, i would like to know if for Coin (TCG) i can take picture from internet or i have to scan it. In the manner of style, it says that we can't upload personnal picture.. like picture of myself or related pictures I took?
We prefer scans done by our own users rather than ones taken from other websites. Personal images are basically images that aren't intended to be used on Bulbapedia. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 14:29, 15 July 2017 (UTC)

Image description

Hi, I'd like to ask about the image description of attacks is that is it compulsory to provide the user and target of the attack? Because some attacks may not show the user using the attack in the image while status moves won't show the opponent due to causing no damage. Just want to clear things up regarding moves such as Agility and Assurance. ThanksNikuriku (talk) 07:33, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Include them if the Pokémon is visible in the screenshot. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 11:15, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Autotomize

Hi, can you rename the file Autotomize.png to Autotomize VI.png please? ThanksNikuriku (talk) 22:40, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Same for Avalanche.png too please--Nikuriku (talk) 00:05, 26 July 2017 (UTC)

Uploading Topps Images

Hi, I'd really like to update the topps section as I have all of the cards and would like to provide scans. Is this a permission you can change for me? I'd rather not just have to edit pages senselessly to reach whatever the edit requirement is. Thanks Samcarano (talk) 23:03, 26 October 2017 (UTC)

I don't have the rights to do so. You could either just do the edits to become autoconfirmed or ask a staff member who's of Bureaucrat level or higher if they can add you to the confirmed usergroup. I will note, though, that we rarely manually confirm users--it's usually reserved for users who are staff members in other parts of Bulbagarden. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 02:01, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
Ok. Thanks for the info.Samcarano (talk) 18:44, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
