Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, Rahl!
Bulbagarden Archives bulb.png

By creating your account you are now able to upload images to help Bulbapedia and Bulbanews. Before you jump in, take a look at these helpful tips:

  • Uploaded images must meet several requirements. Please see the upload form and/or manual of style before you upload a new image.
  • All images need categories and license tags. Save time and fill them out as you upload. There are many different licenses - be sure to pick the best fit.
  • Use meaningful filenames. Make them descriptive so that searchers can find your images easily.
  • Personal images are no longer allowed. Any personal images found will be deleted on sight.
  • If you don't have any images to submit, you can still help out.
  • If you have any more questions, see the FAQ or ask a staff member.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

Edit request?

Hey Rahl, I noticed you were talking to CycloneGU earlier. Something that would really help is assisting in categorizing images. If you're not sure what I am talking about, familiarize yourself with the FAQ, and then feel free to ask me any questions. Some other projects that we could use help for is here. I realize that many of these projects require you to be able to upload, but this is for your reference if you do decide to help us out long-term. Thanks for your willingness to help! ht14 17:40, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

I read over the FAQ and am ready to help. I'm just not sure what I can do help right now without being able to upload. This site seems very complete already.Rahl (talk) 18:56, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
Hey Rahl, you might be surprised what is missing on the Archives, haha. You can click here to see for yourself. It might take a while, but you will eventually come across something that's missing categories or not in the proper formatting. ht14 23:53, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
Thank you very much! I will try my hardest to find something on here that needs improving.Rahl (talk) 00:41, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
No problem! One thing to note though, when continuing a conversation, add an extra colon (:) in front of your comment. I have added some for your reference. ht14 02:53, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
Again thank you. If I have any more questions I will message you.Rahl (talk) 03:07, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

Delete template

In the future, make sure to translcude the delete template (put {{delete}} on the page) instead of substituting it or copying the code from the template page. Thank you! --Abcboy (talk) 14:45, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

I was not quite sure on how to do that. Thank you! Rahl (talk) 15:22, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

File uploading

Hi Rahl, I noticed that you uploaded "Ash Talonflame.png" with a typo earlier and then proceeded to upload it again with the proper filename. While it is good that you caught your mistake, in the future, please wait and tag the file with {{move}} so that a Junior Admin or a user of higher level can properly move the file. So for instance, you would tag the incorrect file with {{move|Ash Talonflame.png}} on the top of the file. Feel free to let me know here if you have any questions. Thanks! ht14 23:30, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

Manga images

Hello. Just to inform you, when uploading images from any manga, any sort of text that appears in a speech bubble must be erased if it comes from an unofficial translation. Official translations don't need to be edited. If the text can't be erased without destroying the bubble, it's best to just crop the rest of the image so the bubble can't be seen. Thank you. Ataro (talk) 22:15, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

Manga images (again)

OK, you seem to not be in the know, so I'll inform you. Under no circumstance should any image from any manga be uploaded if the picture comes from a low-quality camera picture. It must be a scan, otherwise it will be deleted or reverted. Ataro (talk) 07:12, 27 April 2016 (UTC)

Upload stuff

On the upload form, you can type in the categories alongside the summary and licensing instead of using the second edit to type in categories. Pattyman (talk) 21:58, 2 May 2016 (UTC)

Oh cool. Thanks for telling me--Rahl (talk) 22:04, 3 May 2016 (UTC)

Adventures images

I see you're uploading a lot of move images from Pokémon Adventures. While I appreciate that, could you please remember to add the word "Adventures" at the end of your title names (excluding nicknamed Pokémon)? That's the way it's usually done here, it's a way to prevent confusion between anime images in case we have two characters with the same name in different canons (that includes different mangas too). --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 13:28, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

I will start adding that at the end. Sorry about that.--Rahl (talk) 13:38, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

Anime images

Please don't upload images that are screencapped from episode streams of low quality and also try to upload images that are the same size as most anime images. The image you uploaded for Tierno's Ludicolo and the images you uploaded for Trevor's Charizard last week were of downright terrible quality and also not the proper size. Blazingfist (talk) 19:01, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

Okay, I'm seriously getting tired of running after you to add categories on images you've uploaded. Could you please remember to add the necessary categories on an image page once you've uploaded it/while you're uploading it? In case of moves, you don't need to add the user Pokémon's category, for example, but everything that isn't in the template needs to be added separately. Can you please start doing that? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 04:31, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

I'm not really sure what it is I'm forgetting so could you give me an example of what I usually forget to add?--Rahl (talk) 16:54, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
First: You don't need to add the category for Pokémon that is using a move. That'll come automatically along with the template. If there are, say, background Pokémon or humans, you'll need to add their categories yourself. Second: If you like upload a picture of a Trainer with their Pokémon, remember to add categories for them both. That's my example. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:57, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
Alright I'll do my best with that. Thanks.--Rahl (talk) 17:27, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
For a short while, you forgot to add the "Summary" title, but it seems like you've gotten over that now. You're doing really well. Now, I'd be pleased to know where have you been getting all these awesome pictures of the X & Y chapter. I myself have only been able to find a very small amount of images from that chapter. You don't need to tell me the direct address, the site name will likely be enough. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 04:06, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
I've usually been getting them from here. [1] --Rahl (talk) 16:35, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

Again, you have ignored my previous warnings. As I stated before, please do not upload images from low-quality camera pictures. I know exactly where those Charizardite images came from, and I know that the person who uploaded them did not use a scanner. As this is not as recurring as your edits on the the Bulbapedia section, your block will not be as long as your other one. Please, in the future, try and find scans, not camera pictures. Thank you. Ataro (talk) 19:32, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

Re: Jessie Mimikyu.png

I've noticed the upload war you've been involved with. If you have a problem with another person's edits, instead of getting into a public edit war, we suggest that you take it to the user's talk page, and try to negotiate a solution with them. If that fails, please take the issue to an admin, and have them weigh in the situation. - Chosen of Mana 18:47, 10 December 2016 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I will do that in the future.--Rahl (talk) 21:07, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

Wrong Gumshoos

I'd just like to point out that the Gumshoos pictures you've been uploading feature the Totem Gumshoos, NOT Officer Jenny's future Gumshoos. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:44, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I was under the impression she took the Totem one.--Rahl (talk) 19:41, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Image size

When uploading manga images, try to aim for the best quality, aka the biggest size available. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 18:23, 28 June 2018 (UTC)

I do try for that. Where do you get your images, maybe I'm just missing out on the best options? - unsigned comment from Rahl (talkcontribs)

Bulbagarden prefers png over jpg. Please convert your jpg images to png before uploading them. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 07:46, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

That was an oversight on my part, but thank you for the reminder.--Rahl (talk) 20:52, 12 May 2019 (UTC)

About pictures

I recommend that when you upload images from Pokémon Adventures, you try to make the picture you take as big as possible, without zooming past the original size of the page, of course. I hope you understand what I mean. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:41, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

Of course. I'll keep that in mind for the future, thank you.--Rahl (talk) 20:54, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

Image quality

Please wait for good quality images to surface before starting to upload poor quality images like you've been doing just now. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:22, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

I thought they were decent and a decent photo is better than no photo.--Rahl (talk) 15:27, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
