Welcome

Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, Tiddlywinks!
Bulbagarden Archives bulb.png

By creating your account you are now able to upload images to help Bulbapedia and Bulbanews. Before you jump in, take a look at these helpful tips:

  • Uploaded images must meet several requirements. Please see the upload form and/or manual of style before you upload a new image.
  • All images need categories and license tags. Save time and fill them out as you upload. There are many different licenses - be sure to pick the best fit.
  • Use meaningful filenames. Make them descriptive so that searchers can find your images easily.
  • Personal images are no longer allowed. Any personal images found will be deleted on sight.
  • If you don't have any images to submit, you can still help out.
  • If you have any more questions, see the FAQ or ask a staff member.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

Just a note

It is preferred to use pngs for screenshots rather than jpgs. We recommend a program such as GIMP to convert if needed. Thanks. --Pokemaster97 02:52, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

Really? You want me to convert images that are jpg's on the official XY site (where I grab them from) to a png format? I've always thought that sort of thing was just misleading. If a file was saved as jpg, converting it to png won't increase the quality, which seems to me the reason for preferring png's. I suppose the FAQ actually mentions thumbnails, but does that hold the same if you're converting the file from jpg to png, rather than saving it as png from the start? Tiddlywinks (talk) 02:58, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
Yes, they should be converted even if it was a jpg from the original/official source. It makes them easier to replace with cleaner shots later. Additionally, please note that it isn't necessary to note that the image came from the official site in your file summaries either, it's good that you're sourcing, but we typically don't have external links in the file summaries. --Pokemaster97 16:34, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

Storage Key

Is there any difference in the Gen VI Storage Key sprite from the Gen III one, other than one having more whitespace than the other? --SnorlaxMonster 09:44, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

I have no idea. I haven't tried any sort of comparison (and I'm not off the top of my head sure how to reliably do so). Mostly, I just really didn't like using a file supposedly for Gen III in Gen VI. I suppose the Gen VI title could have been redirected, though, and/or the base image moved (to what I'm not sure), and then a second item template put on the page with the Gen VI key items link. Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:34, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
The colors from Tiddlywink's icon are slightly brighter than the Generation III icon, so they are different. --Abcboy (talk) 16:21, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

You can make the ORAS 3D models?

Can yo do make the Brendan, May, Maxie, Archie, Steven and Zinnia 3D models in 400x192? --HoopsterJohn (talk) 22:29, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

No, I can't. I only have sprites that other people ripped. Tiddlywinks (talk) 00:07, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Moomoo Milk

Could you get the Generation VI image for Moomoo Milk? --Abcboy (talk) 01:22, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

Done. ^_^ Tiddlywinks (talk) 05:09, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
Can you also get the Mach Bike, Acro Bike, and Devon Scope sprites? They changed between RSE and ORAS; it's actually almost visible. Also, the Wailmer Pail, Devon Parts, Soot Sack, Basement Key, Letter, Eon Ticket, Scanner, Meteorite, Key to Room 1, Key to Room 2, Key to Room 4, Key to Room 6, and S.S. Ticket sprites differ a tiny bit from the RSE sprites, according to the Spriters Resource rips (which aren't mine to upload) --Abcboy (talk) 02:48, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
I uploaded what I will, so do with it as you will. =P
The Wailmer Pail, Devon Goods, Soot Sack, Scanner, and Meteorite sprites are basically just slightly cleaner versions of the RSE sprites, so I was content to just upload those over the existing files. (If that's not exacly okay, it should be easy enough to fix.) Oak's Letter, the Eon Ticket, and the S.S. Ticket are just slightly lighter colors, and the differences in all the keys, while also pretty trivial, can't (IMO) just be written off as being "cleaner", so I'm just going to leave those ones alone. If you want to do something with those yourself, you can find all the item icons here, approved for uploading here. Tiddlywinks (talk) 00:17, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Colors for Winking icons not right (Shuffle)

Thanks for uploading the Winking Pokémon icons but I found the colors of them do not match with their original form. These are the Pokémon for the event Special Daily Pokémon from Pokémon Shuffle. Could you upload them again? Please compare Shuffle001.png with Shuffle001Winking.png (also, Shuffle004Winking.png, Shuffle007Winking.png, Shuffle035Winking.png and Shuffle039Winking.png) --Karlo918 (talk) 14:54, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

The problem is they're art. There are images of the in-game sprites, but the colors on the stage actually make it pretty hard to crop out a good image of them, at least for me. If someone can get a screenshot of them against a brighter background (like the dex/list screen, I think), I'd be happy to try to crop those out. Or whereever the original sprites came from, if someone can rip all the new ones (including all the winking and other variations), that'd be great. But otherwise the art images may just have to do for now. =( Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:43, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
Can these help? i.imgur.com/HRcIe0k.png or pkparaiso.com/shuffle/sprites.php, sorry I don't have the upload rights. --Karlo918 (talk) 15:58, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
We do have to have permission. If you can tell me where the first link is from, I might be able to look into both. Tiddlywinks (talk) 16:00, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
How about this? reddit.com/r/PokemonShuffle/comments/44sfcl/hoopa_will_be_added_to_the_game_more/ Those sprites were ripped and shared by the original poster of the thread. --Karlo918 (talk) 16:16, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
Sorry about taking a while to get back. We've accepted the source in that Reddit thread and I've uploaded what I can from there. (I downsized everything from the 256x256 resolution.) However, it didn't have Happy Pikachu or Winking Raichu/Jigglypuff/Clefairy/Togekiss/Whimsicott/Cottonee. But I see Pokeparaiso does have those and a number of other winking sprites, like Plusle/Minun and Blissey. If you know of any other potential sources for those, that'd be great. Either way, thanks for your help! Tiddlywinks (talk) 13:01, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
Thanks, they look great. Do you think this can be used: i.imgur.com/MYR7cHu.jpg? it's being shared by reply #4 at gamefaqs.com/boards/114531-pokemon-shuffle/74371733/862726894 --Karlo918 (talk) 14:28, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
I wouldn't be sure that person "owned" those sprites. But we've managed to get approval for the pkparaiso sprites, so we should be good now. ^^ Tiddlywinks (talk) 03:02, 22 October 2016 (UTC)

Suicune and Bulbasaur Crystal Sprites

Tiddlywinks, it might be the version of Firefox you're using. If the broken parts look something like this, it is Firefox with the problem. The previous version (same APNG running on 49.0.2) doesn't have the issue. I reverted my upgrade of Firefox because it was doing that "cropping action" to me while working with the BWB2W2 animated sprites. Adamws (talk) 21:55, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

So does this mean, for you, File:Spr 2c 001.png and File:Spr 2c 245.png look fine?
Suicune does look to me like some sort of crop, except both the top and left edges get (pretty significantly) cropped together for a moment. Bulbasaur is much weirder. First, below a certain line, everything that's not red disappears, and then it very briefly becomes normal again, before a white "frame" cuts through Bulbasaur's face, cutting into the left and right and across the middle of the image (so that part of the face remains, "framed" by this, and part of the bulb remains above).
If it's just my version, then...great? (Maybe?) Tiddlywinks (talk) 16:02, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
Using the most recent version of Firefox I am getting the effects that you are describing, but using version 49.0.2 they're perfectly fine. So it is Firefox that is messing up. This glitch, weirdly, isn't affecting all AniPNGs though. Images like File:2012 Masters Division Challenge Abel Metagross Ice Beam B2W2.png and File:4-1-08 deviantART.png are glitching while images like File:Arceus Formes.png and File:AguavTreeBerry.png are fine. We probably should let Kogoro and the staff know so that can make a notice letting those using the most recent version of Firefox (50.0.2) know that the browser is not working properly with some of the AniPNGs.
