About the Bulbagarden Archives

The Bulbagarden Archives is the central image repository for Bulbapedia and the rest of Bulbagarden.

The Bulbagarden Archives is part of Bulbagarden, the original Pokémon community, and first launched on April 10, 2005. Created to support Bulbapedia, the Archives hosts the images and other media needed to illustrate the encyclopedia, while complying with the principles of the fair use doctrine. As such, the Archives is not intended to be a complete repository of all Pokémon images ever created, and should only host files that meet the requirements for inclusion.

The Archives is a wiki built using MediaWiki, and is maintained by volunteer editors from around the world, who have collectively uploaded 293,628 files. Thanks to their hard work, the Archives continues to grow every day in support of the encyclopedic mission.

The Bulbagarden Archives is a part of Bulbagarden, the original Pokémon community. Originally beginning as a fansite in 1999, Bulbagarden launched in its current form on January 1, 2003, and since then has grown to become one of the largest Pokémon community websites in the world. Bulbagarden also includes the Bulbagarden forums, Bulbanews, Bulbacast and the Bulbagarden Discord.
