Welcome

Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, Flygon 7!
Bulbagarden Archives bulb.png

By creating your account you are now able to upload images to help Bulbapedia and Bulbanews. Before you jump in, take a look at these helpful tips:

  • Uploaded images must meet several requirements. Please see the upload form and/or manual of style before you upload a new image.
  • All images need categories and license tags. Save time and fill them out as you upload. There are many different licenses - be sure to pick the best fit.
  • Use meaningful filenames. Make them descriptive so that searchers can find your images easily.
  • Personal images are no longer allowed. Any personal images found will be deleted on sight.
  • If you don't have any images to submit, you can still help out.
  • If you have any more questions, see the FAQ or ask a staff member.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

English card images

I must ask where you are getting the images you are currently uploading for the TCG. MaverickNate 17:42, 21 October 2015 (UTC)

IF you are getting these images from pokemon.com, we aren't able to use them. They don't accurately portray the cards holofoil, and every image should be a scan personally done by the person uploading said image. Exceptions are given when the uploader has explicit permission from the owner of the original image, which is not something you have from pokemon.com. Please don't upload any more images unless they are a scan personally done by you. MaverickNate 17:55, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
Oh I see, I was getting them from the TCGO, as they upload every single card in every language in a really good quality shotly after every release. But if they need to be scanned I'll stop now --Flygon 7 (talk) 18:01, 21 October 2015 (UTC)

HD M18 images

I noticed your improvement on the image I uploaded. Would it be possible for you to upload other M18 images to the Archives? To be specific, I would want HD images of the other Hyperspace Fury images and images of the Pokémon both Hoopa summon. Anything you can contribute would help! - Chosen of Mana 22:40, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

Yeah, sure, I'll upload them as soon as I can. I was going to upload them before, but had more stuff to do xD. Anything else you need from that movie, just ask and I will upload them. --Flygon 7 (talk) 00:11, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
We do need an image of Baraz's Solrock as well. Thanks! - Chosen of Mana 00:48, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

Generation VI images

Hi! For this image that you've uploaded, did you contact anyone from the Advisory Council for permission, as per this message? This is required of all users as we want to ensure that you are creating the images yourself and not getting them from an unauthorized source (similar to what Maverick Nate explained to you above with TCG-related images). If you've already obtained permission from another member of the Advisory Council, please let me know. Thank you! --ZestyCactus 03:25, 27 March 2016 (UTC)

Whoops, no. I hadn't seen that message, sorry ^_^U. Is that measure really necessary now that anyone has access to making their own screenshots via HANS on the Homebrew Launcher? I had already uploaded several moves's images taking them in that way (the ones in Scald, Grass Whistle, Celebrate, Cosmic Power and Power Whip). --Flygon 7 (talk) 22:50, 29 March 2016 (UTC)
Apologies that no one has gotten back to you. Yes, it is necessary to confirm that the contributor is obtaining their images without taking them from other sites/individuals without their approval. Not everyone happens to mess around to enable the use homebrew software, so we still need to be careful. To confirm that you're taking your own screenshots, all we need is for you to provide a Gen VI status screen shot of a Roselia with the nickname "Archives". Once we confirm the authenticity and quality of the screenshot, you'll be fine to upload Gen VI screenshots. Thanks for your time. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 07:42, 3 April 2016 (UTC)
Here it is. My game is in Spanish, but I hope this is enough for confirmation. Let me know if there are some specific screenshots needed appart from move animations (I can even change the game language temporarily to English if it's needed). --Flygon 7 (talk) 22:34, 3 April 2016 (UTC)
After discussion with my colleagues, the screenshot looks good and you're good to continue uploading Gen VI game images. Any images that contain text should ideally be in English, since Bulbapedia is an English wiki, but the language in screenshots isn't all-important. If you have any ideas of screenshot ideas, don't hesitate bring them to a Bulbapedia staff member and we'll let you know if it's something the wiki happens to need. Something that would be useful, off the top of my head, would be a cleaned version of the ORAS in-battle status overlay, like the others seen on this article section. As well as cleaned up model images that happen to be missing. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 08:00, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
FYI, I also made a page a while ago for a bunch of images that'd be useful on the wiki. If you want to pick something from there and start grabbing images, that'd be great. ^_^ (If there's any editing needed and that's not your forte or something, I'm sure we can find someone who might be willing to help or something.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 18:49, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
Thanks! Much appreciated and really helpful page. ^_^ --Flygon 7 (talk) 22:32, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

Rock Throw

I think there should be a rock in the image, rather than just the hit animation. Eridanus (talk) 17:21, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

I know, but the rock falls so fast, I've been unable to take a screenshot of the rock xD. There is a slight delay between pressing the Home button and the time the screenshot is taken, so it's almost impossible to time correctly. I'll try again later, as the other day I took nearly 30 screenshots and none of them pictured the rock xD. --Flygon 7 (talk) 22:32, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

Shuffle Icons

Would you mind uploading the missing Pokémon Shuffle icons? Thanks! List of Pokémon by Pokémon Shuffle list number Karlo918 (talk) 22:09, 2 March 2017 (UTC)

Shuffle sprite sources

Can you explain where you got a number of the sprites that you recently uploaded for Pokemon Shuffle? In case you weren't entirely aware, Bulbapedia/the Archives cannot use images taken from just anywhere, they have to be from a source we're permitted to use. The only permissible sources I know of don't have sprites like the Kimono Pikachu, so I just want to be sure about where you got them. Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:59, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

The Shuffle sprites also came to my attention for the first time this week, and now that I'm aware of them I'm going to be uploading all of the ones in a file that we are permitted to use. For this reason only, please refrain from uploading any more at this time. Fortunately, I did locate both of your Kimono ones in the file I have, so we trust they're where the Special Stages page says they are.
With that said, I, like Tiddlywinks, want to know exactly where you got your files (link if possible). If the source is different, then I will unfortunately have to reupload and overwrite anything you have already uploaded from the archive I have, but if the source is identical then it's fine. Just make sure, for the future, if you want to upload something like this, to check with staff and even confirm with the owner that you have permission to upload the files. As it stands, we don't know where the images came from and that's why we have to ask. I hope you understand why we need to know this information and can let us know exactly where you got them from. =) The good news is that we will have everything up shortly (I'm adding them myself), so you won't have to upload any more! CycloneGU (talk) 04:08, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
I got permission some time ago to upload Generation VI images, so the ones I uploaded are just taken from screenshots of the game itself and then cropped using GIMP (that's the reason I only uploaded a few every time, as I was doing it manually xD), so I did not think extra permissions were needed. I suppose this is a valid source, isn't it? --Flygon 7 (talk) 23:31, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
If you did them yourself, then yes, that is a valid source. I'll compare the quality between any of yours and the ones in the ZIP and whichever ones are better quality will be used eventually, but thank you for your contributions in any case even if some get replaced. I just didn't know the history so was making sure all our ducks were in a row. =) CycloneGU (talk) 03:19, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
