:::::::In addition it should be pointed out we are planning on using the VS models, well battle models would be more accurate really for Generation VII since they are seen in the background, for the trainer clothing images since they are much higher quality than the squished overworld model textures. Honestly in my opinion any models from in-game would be better to use than screenshots, since there is so many details that get lost or cut off from in-game images. Do you want me to get these (we might need to talk to more staff to get more opinions, I am also on Discord were there is a conversation involving all of the models I work on)? (resetting indent) Yeah, I think it would be good if we were to discuss directly on Discord instead. The points you raise are good, and I'll need to talk to other staff to make a decision. Welcome

Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, Lady Ariel!
Bulbagarden Archives bulb.png

By creating your account you are now able to upload images to help Bulbapedia and Bulbanews. Before you jump in, take a look at these helpful tips:

  • Uploaded images must meet several requirements. Please see the upload form and/or manual of style before you upload a new image.
  • All images need categories and license tags. Save time and fill them out as you upload. There are many different licenses - be sure to pick the best fit.
  • Use meaningful filenames. Make them descriptive so that searchers can find your images easily.
  • Personal images are no longer allowed. Any personal images found will be deleted on sight.
  • If you don't have any images to submit, you can still help out.
  • If you have any more questions, see the FAQ or ask a staff member.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

Black borders

Hi, whenever you upload a pic, please crop the black border using a photoediting software like Adobe Photoshop, Gimp or even MS Paint. --✔Poké.geek✔ 20:48, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

Locations.

Fixing the animation (I am sure the entire square doesn't turn red, only inside of it)... also what about the old locations? I am sure that someone said that we use the newest game in which location exist (eg. Kanto Route 23 has FRLG as it's "technically not existing in Generation IV"). Guess that also happens to any location is still in B2W2 (so Unova Route 10, Cold Storage and Challenger's Cave are left as they are, plus anything missed). Marked +-+-+ (talk) 15:00, 26 September 2012 (UTC) PS. I am not sure about this, though. Victory Road is so different it has two articles (so the old map likely will also be left untouched), Undella Bay is now a route according to the map, instead of being just a location like Pinwheel Forest. Both of games are... well, for sure I didn't see that coming. Marked +-+-+ (talk) 15:17, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Actually Kogoro told me to highlight the entire square on the maps (via IM). I have been told by Kogoro to change those maps as well, but I am working on them at this time. I will update the maps accordingly. Lady Ariel (talk) 20:39, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
Also I forgot to mention that Kogoro said to highlight the outer areas of the other Unova Maps (the yellow around the circles). Lady Ariel (talk) 20:45, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Six Islands seems to be bit off.

I took this shot in-game. The Six Island part is different here. Odd. Marked +-+-+ (talk) 09:06, 13 October 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the information. I took those maps of locations that were already uploaded on the Archives. I will fix the images that are off with the correct map. Lady Ariel (talk) 15:29, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
No problem. Well, that dark grass of yours... doesn't look like what I found* in White 2. It's too dark, were you checking original games? Also uploaded rippling water, dust cloud and shadow. Summer was done at different angle, but then I thought that it rather wouldn't make a difference so remaining are normal. Marked +-+-+ (talk) 16:05, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
Yes it is from the original games, but it is probably very dark since I took it very late at night. The Dark Grass images from other seasons still need uploaded though, as well as the regular grass from other seasons as well. Lady Ariel (talk) 20:04, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

Spring and Summer long grass sprites

I uploaded them from different files, through what seems to make the system detect them as duplicate is that both have exactly the same coloration, I uploaded them separately even if both images are identical because I though that was necessary in order to use the images in a monthly switch. The same goes to both spring and summer dark long grass. --Gabo 2oo (talk) 22:45, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

Bulbasaur's Take Down

The image of Bulbasaur's Take Down that you uploaded was actually Tackle. The only time it used Take Down was when it ran for Meowth in disguise as a Sunflora during the Grass-tournament and the scene switched in the middle of the move. Pattyman (talk) 04:16, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Editing

Um, sorry to bother you in here also (I thought it would be more properly to ask in here instead of in Bulbapedia). I actually want to help uploading the missing cover for the PokeSpe manga. But well, I basically can't because I am not an autoconfirmed user here, and in order to be so, I have to edit. But I do not know what to edit in here. Everything seems just... right... and nothing is wrong to fix. Do you have any suggestion for me? Thank you for your time. Saphir (talk) 06:27, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

You could probably start by looking at the Special Pages. You could check to see if there is any double redirects or uncategorized images. If an image isn't categorized it most likely doesn't have a license, which a list of them is here (if you aren't sure which to use {{i-Fairuse}} is probably the best option). In addition if an image features a Pokémon that should be added as a category (all Pokémon have individual categories on here). If you are wondering about how to add categories and/or licenses it is exactly like how I formatted this file. Lady Ariel (talk) 18:02, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

Black Belt OD?

You said on CycloneGU's talk page that you had the missing Sun and Moon ODs for Gladion and Black Belt, and that you would upload them both shortly. You did indeed upload Gladion's OD, but the Black Belt one is still missing. Am I just being impatient, or did you somehow manage to miss it while uploading? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 06:18, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

No I have it, but he computer I have the images on decided it didn't want to connect to the internet after I uploaded Gladion. I will get him uploaded here hopefully later today. I am trying to juggle like three different model projects at the same time (overworld models from XYORAS and the Pokémon models from Sun and Moon), so it is a bit hectic at the moment. Lady Ariel (talk) 17:36, 21 January 2017 (UTC)
I understand. Multitasking can be really hard and technical difficulties frustrating. But at least you got it uploaded now. As far as I'm aware, that should be the last S&M OD, so now you can fully focus on your other projects. Thanks. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 06:01, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

Upload request

Hey Lady Ariel,

I was wondering if you would be able to upload the defeated VS Trainer models in SMUSUM. Thanks~ ht14 02:14, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Unfortunately the VS models we are using are from in-game screenshots, which I have no way to get. I only have the ability to rip models from the game and get images that way. So technically I could get the defeated VS models, but they would be much higher quality, similar to the overworld models I have obtained. I am not sure why we are using the lower quality ones in the first place for the normal VS models, since I could get the full size VS models instead of the small cut off ones seen in-game. So I can get the much higher quality versions if you would like me to. Lady Ariel (talk) 03:28, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
I don't see why you can't upload the higher quality versions, so yeah, go for it. Can you upload a sample of the full size VS models for me to see as reference first though? ht14 18:07, 13 January 2018 (UTC)
Well luckily for you I did do one a while ago actually, since Lusamine with Nihilego didn't have a overworld model we were going to possibly use this instead. Here is an example of it, its not the final pose but I can fix that. How is that or do you want a more normal one for comparison? Lady Ariel (talk) 20:14, 13 January 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, a more normal image for comparison would be helpful. Thanks! ht14 22:33, 13 January 2018 (UTC)
Here is a more normal one, this time of Hau. I think this is the VS model pose we use now, I know there is a few other variations of him which I can get if you would like me to. How is that or do you want a few more? Lady Ariel (talk) 00:59, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
If I'm understanding this correctly, this is essentially very similar to the overworld model, correct? If that's the case, the model is quite huge for our purposes - the in-game VS model does not need to be that big. Are those VS models that big for regular Trainers as well? As examples, the Youngster or Lass Trainer classes. ht14 03:13, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
Yeah all VS models are that quality, as a matter of fact they are extremely high quality to the point the game ends up scaling them down so much a lot of detail is lost. Yes its pretty much like the overworld models, but of a much higher quality (they have better textures than the overworld models, plus more bones so fingers can move which the overworld models can't do). The difference is extremely obvious for the VS models from XYORAS, which I was already planning on getting since the in-game images of them don't show all of the details since they are cut off. There is one advantage to using these though, we would be able to get a VS model for Lillie to use instead of artwork. Technically we can resize them, so they won't be so large on the wiki.
In addition it should be pointed out we are planning on using the VS models, well battle models would be more accurate really for Generation VII since they are seen in the background, for the trainer clothing images since they are much higher quality than the squished overworld model textures. Honestly in my opinion any models from in-game would be better to use than screenshots, since there is so many details that get lost or cut off from in-game images. Do you want me to get these (we might need to talk to more staff to get more opinions, I am also on Discord were there is a conversation involving all of the models I work on)? Lady Ariel (talk) 04:46, 14 January 2018 (UTC)

(resetting indent) Yeah, I think it would be good if we were to discuss directly on Discord instead. The points you raise are good, and I'll need to talk to other staff to make a decision. ht14 05:34, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
