Most of the times, when you upload over another image, the image that you uploaded will not be shown; rather the older image is shown, albeit with the dimensions you uploaded your image. After uploading over the other image, instead hit refresh or click "purge" (click on the time on the upper-right corner). It will then show the image that you uploaded.
