When uploading a file to the Bulbagarden Archives, you must state its licence status, which is done by selecting a copyright tag. Special:Upload allows you to select from the most commonly used copyright tags, but less frequently used tags are not shown, so you should edit the file page to include one after upload instead.

This article lists the currently available tags.

Safe copyright tags

The following tags indicate "safe" files that can be used on Bulbapedia without any issues.

Public domain

Files in the public domain are those to which no exclusive intellectual property rights apply. Those rights may have expired, been forfeited, expressly waived, or may be inapplicable.

{{i-PD}} Files that have been released into the public domain by the copyright holder, or the copyright has expired, or the file is ineligible for copyright. None

Creative Commons

A Creative Commons (CC) license enables free distribution of a copyrighted work, subject to the terms stated within the license. These templates have a mandatory attribution parameter.

Copyleft

Copyleft licenses allow certain freedoms over copies of copyrighted works with the requirement that the same rights be preserved in derivative works.
