Under the terms of the Creative Commons licenses, attribution must be provided. Best practice states you should include the title of the work, the author, and the source.

Therefore, the description, source, and author parameters of the File Information template should always be completed when using a Creative Commons license.

Categories

This template will automatically add files to Category:Creative Commons images.

If parameter 1 is set to 0, the file will also be added to Category:Public domain images.

If no input, or an incorrect input, is provided to parameter 1, the file will be added to Category:Files with an incorrect Creative Commons license.
