This template is used to provide details about a file's public domain status, within a File Information template.

It should not be used directly on a file page, but instead is a component of {{information}}.

Parameters

All parameters are case-sensitive.

Parameter (this template)	Parameter (within {{information}})	Allowed values	Notes
1	clicense	author	Used to determine if the work has been released into the public domain by a known author. If not, ignore this parameter.
2	author	Link or string	If 1 is set to author, the name of the author of the work (ideally, with an external link or a link to a Bulbagarden Archives user page). If not, ignore this parameter.

Categories

Files with this template are automatically added to Category:Public domain images.

Examples

Stand alone template:

Within a File Information template:

This image has been released into the public domain by the copyright holder, or its copyright has expired, or it is ineligible for copyright.

This applies worldwide.
