This template is the base template used to build File Information templates.

It should not normally be used on File pages; instead, use a File Information template.

Parameters

All parameters are case-sensitive.

Parameter	Allowed values	Notes
summary	Template	Optional. Used to display a summary box. Either use a pre-existing summary template, or use {{NBox}} or {{NBox2}}.
animated	yes • no	Is the file animated? Defaults to no. If yes, the template will automatically detect the file type and display {{anipng}} or {{convert}}. To override this behaviour, use the parameter filetype.
filetype	PNG • JPEG • SVG • GIF	Optional. Used to override the automatic file type detection when using the animated parameter. Should only be used on documentation pages.
description	String	A description of the file.
date	Date or year	Optional (required if copyright is set to FAL or MIT). The creation or copyright date of the work.
source	String or link	The source of the file.
pageno	Number	Optional. The page number of where the file can be found in the source.
timecode	String	Optional. The timecode of where the file can be found in the source.
author	String or link	Optional (required if copyright is set to CC, FAL or MIT). The author of the work. Can be a link to a Bulbagarden Archives user page.

label1	String	Optional. The label for custom information line 1.
label1content	String	Optional. The content for custom information line 1.
label2	String	Optional. The label for custom information line 2.
label2content	String	Optional. The content for custom information line 2.
label3	String	Optional. The label for custom information line 3.
label3content	String	Optional. The content for custom information line 3.
label4	String	Optional. The label for custom information line 4.
label4content	String	Optional. The content for custom information line 4.
label5	String	Optional. The label for custom information line 5.
label5content	String	Optional. The content for custom information line 5.
label6	String	Optional. The label for custom information line 6.
label6content	String	Optional. The content for custom information line 6.
Copyright parameters
copyright	fair use • public domain • CC • FAL • MIT • GFDL • safe • bulbagarden • EP • below • String	The copyright licence that applies to the file. Choose one of the valid inputs, or use a custom input. Defaults to below, which will display See below for copyright information.
csubject	See Template:Information/Fair use for valid inputs	Used if copyright is set to fair use. Otherwise, ignore this parameter.
ctype	See Template:Information/Fair use for valid inputs	Used if copyright is set to fair use. Otherwise, ignore this parameter.
cextra	See Template:Information/Fair use for valid inputs	Used if copyright is set to fair use. Otherwise, ignore this parameter.
cregistered	See Template:Information/Fair use for valid inputs	Used if copyright is set to fair use. Otherwise, ignore this parameter.
clicense	If copyright is set to CC, see Template:Information/CC for valid inputs.	Used if copyright is set to CC or MIT. Otherwise, ignore this parameter.
	If copyright is set to MIT, see Template:Information/MIT for valid inputs.
ctitle	See Template:Information/Safe for valid inputs	Used if copyright is set to safe. Otherwise, ignore this parameter.
ctext	See Template:Information/Safe for valid inputs	Used if copyright is set to safe. Otherwise, ignore this parameter.

Categories

If source is not completed, the file will be added to Category:Files with no defined source.

If animated is set to yes, the file will be added to a category (or categories), depending on file type:

File type	Category
PNG	Category:Animated images
GIF	Category:Images to be converted to PNG & Category:Animated GIF images
JPEG or SVG	Category:Images to be converted to PNG

The file will also be added to categories based on the copyright parameters used. See individual sub-templates for more information.
