User Page

I noticed you just added a profile here simply linking to Bulbapedia. May I suggest perhaps adding "#REDIRECT" before what is currently there? That might expedite the process by automatically clicking someone through to your actual user page. Pattyman (a junior admin. on Archives) does exactly this. It's better to use a soft redirect, to be honest. Hard redirects send the viewer to a different section of the site, making simple navigation more difficult. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 09:50, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Hmm. I thought user pages on Archives were discouraged, hence why I suggested it. I wouldn't suggest it for anything other than user page linking, myself. CycloneGU (talk) 12:26, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Don't mean to bump in into this discussion but the softredirect template doesn't exists on the Archives, only on Bulbapedia. Pattyman (talk) 16:24, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Now that Pattyman points that out, I looked and see it also says, "This soft redirect exists to avoid revealing a critical plot twist without warning." User pages are not critical plot twists. A version saying something to the effect of, "Viewing the user profile leaves the Bulbagarden Archives, please click here to confirm", or another wording, might serve the role for the Archives side provided it's scripted for moving to Bulbapedia from Archives and is used for this application, though there may be other applications as well.
