Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, KumataXIII!

Thank you for joining our community! By creating your account you are now able to upload images to support Bulbapedia and Bulbagarden's other projects. This is a brief introduction to the Archives rules and resources to help you get started:

  • Uploaded images must meet several requirements.
  • All images need categories and license tags. Save time and fill them out as you upload.
    • There are many different licenses - be sure to pick the best fit!
  • Use meaningful filenames. Make them descriptive so that searchers can find your images easily.
  • Personal images are not allowed. Any personal images found will be promptly removed.
  • If you don't have any images to submit, you can still help out.
  • If you have any more questions, see the FAQ or feel free to ask a staff member.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

New anime images

Hey, just a heads-up, there is a thin black line at the right border of the images from DP and BW. This is a issue I've run into before as well, mainly with DP footage, since I've never found a source without the line. I guess this is not a massive problem, but if you end up finding a source without the line, it would be appreciated if you uploaded screenshots from those. Shinka (talk) 15:48, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Honestly, I never noticed the black lines without someone telling me. For my sources, I only look for episodes in 1080p. I download them to make a screenshot via VLC Media Player and that's it. I'm sorry if the black lines are bothersome, I don't know how to remove them. I don't know anything about image editing. KumataXIII (talk) 17:33, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
If it helps, I use Nyaa.si, type in Pokemon Diamond and it will give you a list of options, sarachikorita is a good provider of videos--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 17:38, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I use it too. Either that, or the link to a folder on Mega containing the series in good quality. In French however, because the link comes from a French Discord, because I am French. KumataXIII (talk) 17:54, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Personally, I don't think it is that big of a problem, sorry if I made it come across like that. If no one else and no higher-ups have called this out in some way, feel free to continuing uploading new images! The solution would be to find a source without the line, since cropping the image would change its resolution. Shinka (talk) 16:56, 14 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
It's okay, you just wanted to help. Don't worry, I didn't take it badly. KumataXIII (talk) 17:09, 14 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Just on this, it would be preferable if the source which you get the screenshots from would not have the thin black bars! Thespeon196 (talk) 11:47, 19 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I really don't understand why these bars appear. Does anyone have a reliable source to fix this problem? KumataXIII (talk) 14:09, 19 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
I don't have a reliable source but I do have access to videos without the bars, I have upgraded your recent Aggron images.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 15:15, 19 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I saw it. Really sorry about that. KumataXIII (talk) 16:14, 19 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Adding template to animated series uploads

Hi, thanks for improving our animated series images. When you upload them, it would be helpful it you could also add the animated series template at the bottom of the summary section. For example, with File:Paul Aggron Metal Sound.png, I've added {{i-Fairuse-screenshot-animated-series|DP|186|Familiarity Breeds Strategy!}}, corresponding to the epicode and name of the episode. This places it in series and episode categories which make it easier to find in future. Any questions, let me know! Thespeon196 (talk) 12:46, 19 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'll try to keep that in mind in the future. Thanks for letting me know. KumataXIII (talk) 14:10, 19 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Phasing out use of 'anime'

Hi, just to let you know we're phasing out using 'anime' as a way of describing Pokémon animation. Instead we're being more specific, and so being more useful to our readers, such as by using Pokémon the Series when referring generally to the animated series featuring Ash, or referring to the individual series like Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl where appropriate. Thespeon196 (talk) 13:40, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Oh yeah, that's right. I didn't pay attention, sorry. The thing is, I copied and pasted the piece of code from the Ursaring page onto the other pages, and retrieved the piece on the anime from another Pokéathlon page and added it quickly. I just noticed that several of the files are named incorrectly. Can you correct them please? KumataXIII (talk) 19:27, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Cool, no problem. Which files need moving? (If it's because the filenames contain "anime", that's a much bigger task that will require a long term plan!) Thespeon196 (talk) 19:36, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
The Pokéathlon files that "we" edited. Most of the files have the same spelling mistake in the name, missing the "a" in "Pokéathlon." KumataXIII (talk) 19:47, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Gotcha, thanks for flagging them up, will rename them! Thespeon196 (talk) 19:52, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Adding animated series template

Hey, I saw your uploads of the Black & White screenshots! I have a request, would you be able to add the animated series template, {{i-Fairuse-screenshot-animated-series}}, if it is missing when you upload the images too? The addition of the template with the series code and episode number (and titles) will help a lot with sorting the screenshots into categories on the Archives. Thanks! Thespeon196 (talk) 11:06, 14 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Of course, no problem. KumataXIII (talk) 13:17, 14 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
