Uploading existing images under new name

Hi, thank you for your uploads for Pokémon Café ReMix!

One thing I would point out is that it's always best practice to check whether an image you're about to upload already exists on the site, possibly under a slightly different name (such as Café Mix rather than Café Remix). If we already have an image uploaded, it's best to overwrite that image with your new one, and then tag the image file with {{move}}, where you can suggest a better name for it, and a staff member will then move it when they see the notice.

Hi, sorry I didn't notice the images already existed with a different name. The thing is the Spindata template needs all the images to follow the same name convention, because it only replaces one part of the name, e.g.: [[File:Café ReMix {{specialty}}.png]]. Some of them already existed with the Café ReMix prefix and the ones that don't show up are the ones that I've been uploading (which now I see were there under the Café Mix name). Since Café Mix is the deprecated name of the game, I think Café ReMix should be the standard for all the images, but then what should I do to request the name change? I think the images are fine as they are right now, only if I see I have a better quality I could upload a new version. PokemonSpears (talk) 06:29, 4 October 2025 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for your reply. I agree that Café ReMix is a good standard prefix for all the images. There's no need to worry about the previous images you've uploaded, I've fixed them by moving (renaming), deleting, and merging them with older images, so that they all begin with Café ReMix now.

Where an image already exists on the site, under a name which you feel needs changing, like for example File:Café Mix Ketchup, the best thing to do is upload your new image at the current name, and then use the {{move}} template at the top of the page, writing {{move|Café ReMix Ketchup.png}} at the top.

The image might not work with the Spindata template until it's moved, but a staff member will move the image as soon as possible if they agree with the change, and it will then work.

Like you said though, I think the Café ReMix image names are fine now, but it's useful information to have in mind for the future. Thespeon196 (talk) 11:12, 4 October 2025 (UTC)

Café ReMix screenshots

Hi, thanks for your continued contributions to Café ReMix. A lot of your screenshots are larger than the general limit of 1920 pixels though. Would you be able to reduce future screenshots to fit the limit before you upload them? Thespeon196 (talk) 17:05, 24 February 2026 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I wasn't aware of the size limits, I was only looking at the file size but not the dimensions. I'll make sure to respect the size for future uploads, and I'll try to reupload the ones I already submitted in a smaller size in the following days.
