Your TCG images
Hi, just to let you know that we don't normally need separate images for cards that are already on the site, even if the holo is different to ones we have. For example, File:SimisageEmergingPowers2RH.jpg is treated as the same card as File:SimisageEmergingPowers2.jpg. Also, it is preferred that the images of the cards are scans from the uploader, rather than being taken from the internet like File:InfernapeSteamSiege20RH.jpg.
If you have cards in your collection which we don't have here please feel free to scan them and upload them though! --Thespeon196 (talk) 12:45, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, I wouldn't be apposed to deleting them if they are adding clutter, especially the File:SimisageEmergingPowers2RH.jpg as I realise that's redundant. I'm currently trying to expand the holofoil page for the TCG, one part that's lacking is the reverse holofoils, and I have looked through all relevant expansions in the archive but I cannot find any of the examples that would be necessary for that. Any advice for going about it as I would much prefer actual scans but even those uploaded have not been tagged in a way to make them appear in searches. While I am currently working on a project to acquire all the necessary cards, what should I do until them. Sorry about the trouble, I am new to the wiki as you can see. - Hey don't worry, it's good to have these discussions to ensure that everyone is on the same page. I've had a look at the Holofoil article, and it does seem that the section has been missing images of the Reverse holos for a long time, so I fully appreciate your intention in uploading the images for that page. That said though, my advice would be to hold off on uploading any more until you have personally acquired and scanned those cards through your project, as we would much rather have scans originating from Bulbapedia users than from elsewhere (albeit nicely sourced!) on the internet. The page has been missing those Reverse holos for a while, so waiting a little longer wouldn't hurt, and I think the knowledge that you acquired those cards for our site would make it even more special! -Thespeon196 (talk) 16:48, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
