Why upload XD screenshots as .png, especially if they automatically are saved as .jpg. That makes no sense whatsoever, chocolate. .png makes sense with GB(A) or DS screenshots and sprites, but not with console game screenshots, unless they were taken directly and losslessly, but most images are from captures of the TV-out signals of the consoles and therefore have suffered some loss already, jpg won't hurt that much more and if a program already saved it in jpg, it makes no sense to convert that jpg to png. It only produces files with unnecessary high file sizes of pictures that are still full of JPG artifacts. --Nyoo 08:08, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Crystal Sprites

So far, because of the sprite template on the Pokémon Species articles, all crystal sprites must be gifs. What you told Pokelova was incorrect and misleading. Also, the categories are just the set name, with the three digit card number in the next info field, so a sadstorm cxard would be[[Category:EX Sandstorm|010]]. Deletion of Pokémon Center nighttime photo

What the heck was that about?! Don't just delete photos that are in news articles. Would you please explain more preciseley what the reason for the deletion was? The photo had a watermark from a Japanese news site - so what? I have found and uploaded another version of the photo from a different news website, something you could have done instead of just promptly deleting a file that is actually in use in an article. I still don't know your exact reasoning for this - watermarked images are to be avoided, they're not forbidden. As long as there is no other option, a watermarked image should be fine though. We'd only get in trouble if the Pokémon Company or so would decide to make us trouble - that's why we declare it as fair use (and we don't upload hi-res pictures to make sure it stays a fair claim). The news site doesn't own the rights on the image, they just put their watermarks on there so it can be seen where other sites get it from as not everyone receives press releases from Nintendo and the Pokémon Company in Japan. They can't really do anything in terms of copyrights if someone else uses the images from their news/press release reports and those sites are so big and well-known, it won't really hurt them either, they actually benefit as most other sites also give credit, and if they don't, it doesn't hurt them much. YOU have no right or good reason to delete images just because they have some kind of watermark. (See manual of style) We don't have a rule against watermarked images and if we did, we'd have to go and delete a good number of other pictures in the archives. The next time, provide a more precise reason for a deletion candidate and don't just go and delete it right after you added the {{delete}} tag. They can both be used on both. Also, as a side note, make sure to delete tag these temporary image headers when we have the real one, because we need to keep the Archives clean and clutterless. Policy on images

We appreciate the gesture, but it isn't you can just decide to start doing on your own. If any situation where someone takes our images occurs, then TTE, the EB, and I will decide what to do. If you don't want your images stolen, simply don't upload them. And it is not wise to have such a policy on images that you did not create yourself, like the TCG artwork you just uploaded. ^Maverick_Nate 03:47, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Alright. Would it work better just to say not to watermark my uploads? I've seen sites that steal uploads, watermark them, and then another site takes from them, watermark and all, when a non-watermarked version is still available here. Also, you never said no to it on the forums. Plus, does WPM watermark images he doesn't own? Serebii on maps he doesn't own? IGN, GameSpot, etc. on images they don't own? Yes. Hey Imme, Need you help !!!

I need your help regarding some images. I am facing some problems in editing Art from Pokémon Red and Green images and Pinball sprites. Because pinball spirits are in gif extension (animated pics) which I can't edit for some reasons. In Pinball pics, when I tried to make them transparent then only 1 frame appears instead of a complete animation and in Red & Green pics, I am unable to remove the white portion. So, can you tell me the solution of solving it please?

Sorry for butting in, if you're editing gif images in GIMP you need to either save the image and then click 'Open as layers' in the menu or copy the URL and use 'Open Location' so that it opens up in layers. Once you get that opened up, you need to edit each layer to make it transparent. For the background layer, if it doesn't let you make it transparent, right click and "add alpha channel" and try selecting it again. Hope that helps. Jello 18:54, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

They're fine, except that all the frames show in the animation. What you want to do is make it so that each frame clears after for the next frame. You can do that by editing the layer name (For example, if you have a layer named "Layer 1 (250ms)" just edit it so it's "Layer 1 (250ms) (replace)"). Also, make sure they are the correct size, I'm not sure what the size for the pinball sprites are, (32px x 48px I'm guessing) but each set of sprites have their own size, so try to keep that consistent. Lucario

It's not the wrong color. It's in a CMYK color scheme instead of RGB. I'm trying to find a converter, but the only one I've found so far is Photoshop, which I can't get.--immewnitythemew 11:30, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

If you look at both versions side by side, you will see it is way off. The colors in all other art are more similar to the old version. Could you maybe revert it or make a different version? Unless you plan on finding this converter soon. I like the color change of most of the Pokemon, as it does look like it is how they should be, but the change with Lucario is not fitting.
