Request permission to upload an image

Hi, I would like to upload a new version of Ash Talonflame , but you blocked the option in 2016. The image I want to upload is identical to the one BigDocFan uploaded in 2023 but in 1920 x 1080. KumataXIII (talk) 07:39, 20 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Alright, I lifted the protection. Please go ahead. - Coffee (Talk) 08:25, 20 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Great, thanks. KumataXIII (talk) 19:19, 20 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Location template for POKÉTOON?

I was wondering if POKÉTOON should get a location template for use in summaries, given that the latest short featured many in-game locations from Paldea, and an earlier episode featured a Safari Zone. Do you think one should/could be made? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 18:48, 21 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

I updated Template:Location/Anime with inputs for "poketoon" and "poketoon2024" in parameter 2. - Coffee (Talk) 01:46, 22 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:15, 25 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

File renaming

Hi, I kinda messed up and didn't realize that that File:PokemonDetectivePikachuRegion44KUltraHDBluRayCover.jpg was actually a picture of the exclusive Steelbook and not the vanilla release. Could you please be able to move the page to File:PokemonDetectivePikachuRegion4SteelbookCover.jpg? Thanks. Eeveelutionred (talk) 08:45, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Done! - Coffee (Talk) 16:22, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

New Template Input

Hi! So I wanted to ask if it would be possible to add a new imput to the Location/Anime Template about Dragonite and the Special Delivery? AnnieCat07 (talk) 14:40, 3 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Done! Use "dragonite" (all lower case) as the parameter. - Coffee (Talk) 19:03, 3 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Strange delete and replacement.

Hello, I would like to understand something about banners. I already uploaded a banner with Salamence, but it was deleted by you when HeroponSuperT2 replaced another old banner. I looked and the banner with Koraidon and Miraidon is not in the Poké Portal News gallery. So why was the banner PPN80 replaced and my first upload (PPN81) was deleted even though they are two different banners with a big time gap? Modesty Elyon (talk) 11:11, 14 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

We've been using the "PPNXX.jpg" filenames exclusively for header images for Tera Raid events. When we started getting Mass Outbreak news, we uploaded those header images under "PPNMXX.jpg". If you want to start uploading header images for the different Regulation formats, or competitive events in general, I will not stop you, but I would suggest a different filename format. Also, make sure you have an place in Bulbapedia proper to use it. - Coffee (Talk) 15:53, 14 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
I asked if the file was named incorrectly, you could delete the old banner and rename it to the correct name, instead of deleting the new image that was uploaded earlier. I just don't really understand why HeroponSuperT2 re-uploaded the duplicate over my old upload if I had already uploaded the Salamence banner earlier that could have been renamed. I think what Coffee is saying is that the image with Koraidon/Miraidon which you uploaded a couple of weeks ago with name PPN80.jpg was not of a Tera Raid event, which uses that name scheme PPN. It seems to be of Ranked Battle Regulation Set I, but as of now we don't have a need/use for these images on Bulbapedia. That might be a project for another day, uploading those images, with their own name scheme, for new Bulbapedia pages featuring Ranked Battles.
As for today, you uploaded the Salamence image under the name PPN81.jpg, but really this would have have been better named PPN80.jpg to be at the correct number. Another user then uploaded the Salamence image to the correct name, over PPN80.jpg (I can't really speak for the other user, but, assuming good faith, I assume they didn't see the Salamence image which you uploaded). The Salamence file at PPN81.jpg then became unneeded, because there was already the same image with the correct name uploaded. The misnamed and unneeded file was then deleted by staff.
It doesn't seem like anyone is at fault here, just a bit of a mix up more than anything else! Thespeon196 (talk) 22:47, 14 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
