Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, Umeko!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your uploading:

The Manual of Style, or MoS, outlines the format and guidelines of all images on Bulbagarden Archives.

All of our administrators are here to help! Talk to them if you have any questions or problems with the Archives.

Tagging images with correct licenses and categories is a must. These guidelines will help you learn more about tagging images.

  • Please read the checklist when you upload media files. The checklist is there to make sure you are doing everything necessary when uploading said media files.
  • Be sure to tag and categorize all images. This helps organize the vast amount of images we have here.
  • Check if your image already exists by searching through categories, and Bulbapedia pages. This action will help prevent unnecessary duplicates from appearing.
  • When adding a licensing tag to anime or game screenshots, please avoid just choosing "Screenshot". This is not descriptive and places the images in the wrong category. Make sure to choose "Screenshot from a Pokémon game," or "Screenshot from the Pokémon anime." This will put them in the right categories, and help keep the Archives clean.
  • Does your image have a purpose? Will you be using it on a Bulbagarden Project? Avoid uploading images because you think they are "Cute" or "Awesome". That clutters the Archives.
  • Personal images are limited to two for each User. Personal images include personal logos, personal trainer sprites, drawings, trainer cards and mostly any image that would only be used in the User: namespace and have no encyclopedic value to Bulbagarden and its affiliates. Please tag these with the {{i-Personal}} template for easier organization. Under no circumstance should a photograph of one's self ever be uploaded onto Bulbapedia Archives.
  • In addition, please upload images with meaningful names. Names that are just numbers, for example, do not describe anything about the image, and can make it difficult for searchers. Names are just as important as licenses and categories, so make them descriptive.
  • Due to the many automated templates used on the wiki, lowercase extensions are imperative. That means jpg and png instead of JPG and PNG. It looks cleaner, it works better, and it does not cause any problems. Make sure to always use lowercase extensions.
  • If you're confused about the requirements for uploading files, have a look at this guide.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

gdit, I suck so hard at remembering to categorize, fffffff D8 Umeko 00:09, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
I'll remind you again... yay. ht14 22:33, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

Great work on images

Can you remove spacing though? (1) Between summary and licensing, and (2), between title and equal sign (=). Very minor things, but consistency, yada yada yada. ht14 04:05, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Eh the spacing doesn't matter much as long as it renders the same. TTEchidna 04:08, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
I know... *grins* Still.... I think it looks a bit better in terms of coding... ht14 04:09, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
I think you're doing just fine. Good job on finding those 720p pics, I should have thanked you earlier for that. --Hmdwgf 02:50, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Haha, the ones for the anime episodes? It's not a problem - all I do is hang around 2ch and 2channel while the episodes air, and then gank whatever looks good. The most effort put into it is saving them as PNG instead of JPEG. ;D 梅子 15:17, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Do you live in Japan? If so, you could be of great use to the archives by getting these 720p header pics for these upcoming episodes. Hopefully we won't get any more of those low-res pics anymore :) --Hmdwgf 05:56, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
Nah, I'm in the US. I just hang around the Japanese message boards and such too much for my own good. D: 梅子 05:59, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Being a "new" admin and all, you should know that you should also delete the redirects. Yup. ht14 03:16, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I was kind of trusting that Psy would go ahead and change the linked images appropriately, and then I would go back in a bit to delete the redirects. :D;; 梅子 03:20, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
While I don't mind... most of the time, the Archives is rarely used... ht14 03:21, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Just wonderin'

Do you want me to put up random files on my trainer page so you can upload 'em? ht14 04:37, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

I have every puck image downloaded from sets 01 through 15, plus the special set. (this is what it said in the coding) Is there a current naming convention?--immewnitythemew 18:20, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, the naming convention is Pokemon name (set number-puck number).png
When you upload them (as I assume that's why you've asked me), stick {{subst:User:Umeko/battrio|Pokemon|set|number}} in the summary, eg. {{subst:User:Umeko/battrio|Tangrowth|01|010}}. I'll have to ask that you leave the Best Selection and promotional puck uploads to me though, since the BS upload subst is slightly different, and I still haven't totally decided on the naming conventions for the promo pucks. :V 梅子 18:26, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
I'll upload them when I get the chance. Thanks!--immewnitythemew 21:18, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Yup! I think we already have all the pucks from the first five sets uploaded, or maybe just the first four - we had a Battrio-uploading party a little while back. So you don't have to upload those, or the select handful of other pucks I uploaded for template-testing purposes some ways back. 梅子 21:39, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
