Revision as of 00:41, 1 June 2011
Fresh start for the upcoming full launch of PidgiWiki, and Route One's impending future! ...wait. That last part isn't good...
About those resized images
You do know you can still access the older revisions of the files right? Besides...we may be overhauling the size limit to something more bigger and reasonable. JelloTalk 17:35, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
- I know, it's just that since CQ is already saving the images, it'd save time and server stress. And, how's that size limit thing going, btw? I know Nate put up a thing on the admin forums, but I haven't heard anything since.--immewnitythemew 18:37, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
Anime art
Have you ever come across clear anime art of characters like Gary? Other characters have artworks too, but we never see them on anything else besides Japanese scans. (Examples include Jessilina, Zoey, Nando, Young Volkner and Flint) tc²₆tc26 10:28, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- I think I've seen Gary. Don't remember where though. It should be saved on my PidgiWiki upload server.--immewnitythemew 12:11, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
The screenshots you're uploading
Shouldn't they be in .png format? For the sake of retaining the quality in the thumbnails...it's up to you though I guess. —♥ Jellotalk 00:24, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- JPG to PNG is frowned upon, unless transparency is to be added.
The scan
I DID get it from the source, I accidentally uploaded the smaller version by mistake. D: Thanks for uploading the bigger one though, I was all over the place. —♥ Jellotalk 02:41, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
Gigaiasu art answer
You asked me when I uploaded a new version of Gigaiasu : "what was wrong with mine? it's more fully cropped and compressed." Well, 1st, it DID NOT appeared as transparent when I opened it in several programs like PhotoShop or PhotoFiltre. 2nd, there was still the tag that the image was NOT transparent, so I thought yours wasn't transparent... I later figured out that image software does not shows transparency of PNG images as they only show GIF transparency...Sorry if I caused any problems ^^' TokoyamiTheDark 21:07, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
Confused?
How come here, it says I was the the uploader of the current image, but over here, it says that you are the person who uploaded the image? Should I just try to re-upload it? - Vhayes1992 17:37, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
- The Archives and BP are on 2 different servers, so it's just a syncing issue, it'll fix itself soon enough. —♥ Jellotalk 18:06, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
Ranger Art
Do you know of any site that has bigger Ranger art? More so of like the first Ranger? If you can help thank you~ --Psyライダー☮ 19:37, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Well, I'm not too sure which art is from what, but if this is Ranger 1: http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:7mKtODZDFhBiCM:http://www.pokemonations.com/pokemon-ranger1.jpg&t=1
You're in luck. I found a few high-res ones, and I'm currently uploading the raws to PidgiWiki (my little image wiki). I'll upload them here when I'm done cropping and stuff. What should I name them?--immewnitythemew 19:45, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- I think we have some already, like
File:Aria.png
andFile:Ranger Spenser.png
, which apparently aren't categorized in the Pokémon Ranger category. I can go through and categorize them. Most are already uploaded I think, it's just a matter of finding them. Thanks though~ --Psyライダー☮ 19:54, 17 August 2010 (UTC)- Yeah, guess so. Still, might wanna check out the ones that may not be here.--immewnitythemew 20:10, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
YOU
I love the high-res images and all... but could you pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease color-correct them before uploading? It's not that hard with GIMP. TTEchidna 01:48, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- The color is CMYK, not RGB. I can't figure out how to convert them correctly. You want them fixed, you fix them. I've repeated this like 30 times and no one bothers to listen.--immewnitythemew 11:13, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- That may be so, but we want art that accurately displays the colors. Until that can be done, I will continue to revert it back to something that is more appropriate, and I ask that you comply with that. Thanks. —♥ Jellotalk 11:28, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- *sigh* It does accurately display colors, just not using the same color scheme. Everything I'd just reverted was official; released by Nintendo, some gotten from Nintendo directly. I'm going to ask Nate for the final say, but this situation is one thing that has been pulling me away from Bulbagarden.--immewnitythemew 00:02, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- Matt, I know what CMYK and RGB are. The point I was trying to make was, RGB is the only colour scheme we should be using. CMYK is meant for print and photographs, not something like this. The colours for CMYK are way too oversaturated. I've ripped my hair out trying to work with one image, to match with the RGB colour scheme, and I just can't seem to get it right. For now, it just has to be like this. I'm not trying to offend you here, I know you work hard to get us these images. If anyone can ever figure out a way to fix these images, the previous revisions are available. I hope you understand. —♥ Jellotalk 00:57, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

RB/TCG Art
Hey, wondering if you recognise theseartworks I'm pretty sure they're from Red & Blue but I'm not sure. Others from the same source as these are on cards in the base set, like http://archives.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:068Machamp-TCG.png which I took the liberty of tagging as from Red&Blue. cheers SuiScorpio 02:38, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Listen
I really hate to do this but it's been on the front page for a while now: "High resolution for Pokémon artwork will not be allowed above 1000 pixels. Further limits are still being decided upon; however, uploading above such limits will result in a block. " Did you not read that? You're being blocked for uploading over the limit here. I suggest you read up on "fair use", while you take some time off from here. There's a reason a resolution limit is being reinstated again. Your block expires in a week. —♥ Jellotalk 00:16, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Hey
Those scans you're uploading, are they yours? The corners seem to be cut off and I don't know if you know they're supposed to be roundy. —♥ Jellotalk 21:37, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- Got them from online sellers. Cut off corners are okay IIRC, so... yeah.--immewnitythemew 21:38, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
Guardian Signs
I'm noticing that the Guardian Signs website ([1]) has a lot of art that we don't have. For instance, this Ukulele Pichu art: [2] Some of these will need cleaning up, and I can't guarantee that I'll find all of them. I know you're good at finding web images; care to take on this task?
- Mission Start: Extract the Guardian Signs images! --AndyPKMN 21:53, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- Additionally, there's a flash file on the site with some sexyfine artwork of Ben riding Suicune and Summer riding Latias. Do you happen to have a flash decompiler? --AndyPKMN 22:19, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- Unrelated to Guardian Signs, what is the image here supposed to be? Do we need it for the wiki? (Sorry for spamming your talk page) --AndyPKMN 23:01, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- 1) I'm waiting for FANKIT to update
- 2) Have Suicune one big, again, waiting for FANKIT
- 3) Battle Shooter, IIRC.
- immewnitythemew 13:57, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Its name is the Miracle Shooter, to be exact. Bluesun 19:52, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Alrighty Matt
I'm going to give you a piece of my mind, and to be honest, I'm sick and tired of your behavior. You are not the king of the archives, nor will you ever be. It is absolutely unnecessary for you to post something like {{delete|PNG conversion never increases quality, plus fail}}, when you can just as easily go to the talk page. Considering that it compresses it to make it look better in the thumbnail and not look crappy like your jpgs, it should be you who should just stop being an arrogant little jerk to every user who does not upload to your standards. No one wins with uploading images and some people upload differently, get over it. They're only images, get over it. You are treating the staff, regardless of their rank, like crap. Enough is enough. I don't know why you think that kind of behavior will fly here on the Archives, but it won't. I've had it with your arrogant behavior and it is going to stop, cause we're not going to tolerate it on the Archives. Thank you. --Psyライダー☮ 04:20, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I was just following what Nate told me a while ago on the issue. And, about the "fail" thing, I was joking around about how Jello accidentally typed in Johto instead of Kanto. I didn't mean for that to be mean.--immewnitythemew 12:20, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
Paras
I reverted it because it looked like it came out of a scan or something, you can tell it has jpg artifacts. The previous one was more clear and had more details. —♥ Jellotalk 01:04, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
- The Paras was not from a scan, it was from a large stock image of a German Advent calender. I will re-upload the image with some fixes that are of comparison to the current image.--immewnitythemew 02:16, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
Saturation
Is there a particular reason the Sugimori art you just uploaded seems so saturated? I can clearly see from the jp portal site that the art isn't even like that there. —♥ Jellotalk 01:12, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
- Hm? This is exactly rips from the game guide PDF.--immewnitythemew 01:13, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, never mind then. I was looking at this, the elemental monkeys artwork is a bit less saturated than the ones you uploaded. —♥ Jellotalk 01:20, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
- Excuse you, Matt. I cannot believe you are still insisting you are right. I have been trying to be reasonable with you, but you're just acting like an immature child. Look, we know what source you are using. It looks perfectly fine, and we were able to upload it fine ourselves, using the same exact source you were. YOU on the other hand, I don't know. You need to check your monitor, settings, programs or something because the ones you were uploading were over-saturated, like I've been saying all this time. I have asked everyone I could if they saw the same thing I did, and they all agreed they were over-saturated for some reason. Now, if something is going wrong on your side, that does not give you the right to be an overall jerk to the others and revert back thinking you're always right. We are not stupid. Give us some credit, please. I hate being mean, and I've stood up for you and disagreed with blocking you for your unreasonableness all the time but you treat us like our opinions don't matter. You are a valuable member of this wiki, so I don't say anything, but you need to admit you're wrong too sometimes. —♥ Jellotalk 19:58, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Just wondered...
Where you got the HQ artwork for Gantoru? And is there more? If so... could you please direct me to the site? It's just I love HQ sugimori art. And also, I could help you upload them if you like. --S2daam 22:57, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
- There is more; it'll take me a while to transparentize them. The source is from Yahoo! Japan, but I had to go through source codes and stuff... I'll have them on PidgiWiki shortly, though, if you want to help.--immewnitythemew 23:02, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
- Haha, Internet was down and it looks like other people have beat me too it. Is there more? Because I checked on Pidgiwiki and it seems that there are 30 odd pokémon without HQ artwork. I will happily help with the next batch (if there is some) --S2daam 21:12, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Permission
Hi, I just wanted to ask if it would be OK to upload several files from PidgiWiki to here? (such as the Victini event picture) Didn't want to just upload without asking first. Good find by the way. --S2daam 21:47, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
- I have PidgiWiki open for all to use. Feel free to upload anything! (just remember the image limit)--immewnitythemew 16:11, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
Your edit summary
Joking or not, I can't tolerate you calling my staff "nazis" and that comment was really inappropriate. That is the only reason I am blocking you. Others have gotten blocked for inappropriate edit summaries as well. There are better ways to get your point across. If you have a problem with our rules, that's fine, but kindly keep your snide comments to yourself. Your block ends in a week. Good day. —♥ Jellotalk 04:00, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Watermarks
I talked to Deth and evkl a few days ago regarding watermarking. I know the regulations. They are allowed, but they're going to be done different than the ones I have already uploaded. Virtual-Z 00:49, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Broken image
The image is not broken, we are having "server sync" issues as usual. Server will take some time to sync, till then you may wanna try purging the server cache. ♫♪エイディニズ♪♫ 13:13, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
Immewnity/AllSugimori
We, the Archives staff, don't believe this page is needed anymore. Since you have all these images on your own wiki, and this userpage is causing a large number of redlinks, we've come to the agreement to remove this userpage. Do you have any objections to voice before we do this? Masatoshitalk 07:05, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, I do have objections. I do not have all these images on my own wiki, and so that isn't a valid excuse. The redlinks the userpage is causing are reminders to fix the file structure, as they should exist. In addition, the background helps to fix transparency issues.--immewnitythemew 12:02, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- As far as Sugimori's artwork images are concerned, transparency is not big of an issue since almost all the images are transparent. Regarding the data, all those images are already available in this category. Not trying to sound rude, but you can also save them in your computer with the help of the respective category rather than storing them in an enormous userpage. ♫♪エイディニズ♪♫ 12:56, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- Almost all does not equal all. The page provides a method to easily see ones that aren't, instead of manually checking each and every one of those 900 some images. Red links were never an important issue on the archives, and I don't understand why that is being used as a reason to ostracize and ignore users. MaverickNate 17:20, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
