Welcome

Bulbagarden Archives logo.png
Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, Pattyman!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your uploading:

The Manual of Style, or MoS, outlines the format and guidelines of all images on Bulbagarden Archives.

All of our administrators are here to help! Talk to them if you have any questions or problems with the Archives.

Tagging images with correct licenses and categories is a must. These guidelines will help you learn more about tagging images.

Miscellaneous
  • Please read the checklist when you upload media files. The checklist is there to make sure you are doing everything necessary when uploading said media files.
  • Be sure to tag and categorize all images. This helps organize the vast amount of images we have here.
  • Check if your image already exists by searching through categories, and Bulbapedia pages. This action will help prevent unnecessary duplicates from appearing.
  • When adding a licensing tag to anime or game screenshots, please avoid just choosing "Screenshot". This is not descriptive and places the images in the wrong category. Make sure to choose "Screenshot from a Pokémon game," or "Screenshot from the Pokémon anime." This will put them in the right categories, and help keep the Archives clean.
  • Does your image have a purpose? Will you be using it on a Bulbagarden Project? Avoid uploading images because you think they are "Cute" or "Awesome". That clutters the Archives.
  • Personal images are limited to two for each User. Personal images include personal logos, personal trainer sprites, drawings, trainer cards and mostly any image that would only be used in the User: namespace and have no encyclopedic value to Bulbagarden and its affiliates. Please tag these with the {{i-Personal}} template for easier organization. Under no circumstance should a photograph of one's self ever be uploaded onto Bulbagarden Archives.
  • In addition, please upload images with meaningful names. Names that are just numbers, for example, do not describe anything about the image, and can make it difficult for searchers. Names are just as important as licenses and categories, so make them descriptive. Please be sure that the filenames contain alphanumeric characters only.
  • Due to the many automated templates used on the wiki, lowercase extensions are imperative. That means jpg and png instead of JPG and PNG. It looks cleaner, it works better, and it does not cause any problems. Make sure to always use lowercase extensions.
  • If you're confused about the requirements for uploading files, have a look at this guide.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

Hi (Part 1)

Please upload anime screenshots as .png and not .jpg. Thanks Jellotalk 19:59, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

Important 1

I can't stress this enough but, please, please don't upload any screenshots from Serebii. They do not like us taking their stuff. Also, the screenshots you're uploading are very bad in quality, please try to get clear and clean shots. This has been your last warning. Jellotalk 03:50, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

How am I taking stuff from serebii (not counting the Marill one)? Also, are you referring to the Swampert pic or all of the ones that I uploaded (I am a beginner in this so I didn't know what bad quality meant in terms of uploading)? Pattyman 18:38, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
The one you posted on my page was from Serebii, and you uploaded that same exact image here. File:Ash Oshawott.png is an example of a good quality image. File:Cadee Mareep.png is an acceptable image (see the dimensons: 320x240) Generally, taking screenshots from Youtube is not a good idea either (unless the quality is really good or HD) Jellotalk 18:48, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
I had to upload those very quickly because I would have been locked out again. I just saw in Solana's page that someone already got rid off the unnecessary pics. Pattyman 19:01, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Important 2

I removed them because they were taken from Serebii. --Psyライダー 19:03, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

I knew that (mentioned above). I was about to do it but you already got the job done. Pattyman 19:06, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
From now on, get your images from like Filb.de, like Jello mentioned above. They're cleaner and better than Serebii's pictures. Filb also has given us permission to use their images, while Serebii has not, nor will we ever want to use his images. Also, uploading bad quality images because you needed to do them quickly isn't much of an excuse, next time, find time to upload better images. Thank you. --Psyライダー 19:19, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Important 3

When uploading, just upload the image once, and the server will eventually swap over to the newest revision. There is no need to upload the same image as many times as you did. Thank you. --Psyライダー 19:56, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

When I uploaded the new image the first time, it kept on taking me to the old one instead [Even with the multiple uploads (that was when you said power off Einstein)]. Pattyman 20:07, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
That's what always happens, you should have refreshed the page. Also, keep the attitude problem off the page thanks. --Psyライダー 20:26, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry for what happened before. Pattyman 23:32, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

You have been blocked

Because you have failed to stop uploading images from Serebii.net. Considering you said "This image from serebii did not show Tracey's head completely.", it tells me you did steal it from Serebii. Take this day off to possibly find better images not from Serebii. Further insubordination will result in a longer block. Thank you. --Psyライダー 17:40, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Good job

Your most recent upload of Rochelle. That's how anime screenshots should look. Keep that up and you're good to go. Jellotalk 02:24, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, I appreciate it. Looks like the jpg counterpart of Rochelle can be deleted. Pattyman 02:34, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
No problem. Also, next time you're replacing a .jpg just put a {{delete|reason here}} tag on it, so admins can find it easily and delete it. Thanks. Jellotalk 02:38, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Utilizing the {{delete}} template

Only use it when you are sure the image is unused in the 'pedia. In other words, put the template after you have at least put up the replacement or removed it from Bulbapedia. One instance of that was your choice of putting up the template for :File:Gary-and-misty.jpg, which is currently used in Shipping:EgoShipping. ht14 00:20, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Hey, this is your second warning. Make sure that when you use the {{delete}} template, that, unless it's userpages, the image in question is currently unused in Bulbapedia and/or Bulbanews. Chances are that the reason that there was a revert war between you and Renzo493 in the first place was because of your lack of replacing the proper image on Bulbapedia before using the delete template. If you have any questions, speak to me here after your block is over. ht14 04:05, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

File titles

The standard here is either the name followed by "manga" or "Adventures." So for instance, it'd be File:Giovanni Nidoking Adventures.png or File:Giovanni Nidoking manga.png. Preferably, it'd be the former, but in any case, the "manga" should be lowercase. That goes for anime images as well: "anime" is lowercase. Thanks. ht14 03:58, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

Hi (Part 2)

Please do not upload files with non-alphanumeric characters in its name. The only characters allowed are A-Z, a-z, and 0-9. If you're confused about the requirements for uploading files, have a look at this guide. --ht14 00:21, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

I know what you're referring to. The nickname of that Pokémon was an actual number (not trying to make up an excuse or anything). Pattyman 00:39, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
It was not the number six issue, it was when I placed parenthesis around the word, anime. I saw it on the image's history. Pattyman 01:38, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
Hey, you do know that you can add categories right from the upload form? Just add [[Category:whatever]] under the summary. Jellotalk 02:45, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
Faster process for me then. Pattyman 02:48, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
One more thing. If possible, make sure you italicize and link the anime eps. For instance, for Hatching a Plan, it'll be ''{{bp|EP230|Hatching a Plan}}'', which comes out as this: Hatching a Plan. I know it'll be a bit more work, but at least italicize them, thanks. ht14 23:04, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Edit warring

Edit warring is not tolerated here. You have been blocked for 1 day. The policy on Bulbapedia is that everyone who participates in said edit war gets blocked for the number of reverts they made, minus the initial revert. Please bring the issue up with an Administrator next time, instead of taking part in an edit war. Thanks. Jellotalk 03:58, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Hey :D!

If you find a problem with any of the moves, try switching them to the Mv template :D!

{{subst:Mv|Pokémon using move|Attack being used|Other Pokémon|gen}}

Thanks! --+ Joeshie + (is Me!) 03:10, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Do I type the Mv template in the Summary? Pattyman 03:25, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Yep, just delete everything there except for like moving templates and the {{subst:MV... thing will handle everything from categories to licensing :D --+ Joeshie + (is Me!) 05:34, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Regarding Trainer sprites

There has been a standard in regards to Trainer sprites that was out for a while now. However, I guess it wasn't explicitly shown in Bulbagarden Archives, however, it has been mentioned in the Bulbagarden forums. Anyhow, I've compiled a page in regards to the naming conventions of most images, as seen here. Any other questions, ask away on your talkpage. Thanks in advance. ht14 00:33, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Regarding Sinnoh Location images

Those moves that you requested... those images exist at that filename location. Make sure that the filename that you request we move for any image actually does not exist. Thanks. ht14 04:14, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I was just trying to get rid of the capital pngs and make the filenames better. Also, whenever I try to look at the candidates for moving page, the server stops for some reason. Any ideas? Pattyman 04:55, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
Just wait for now. The servers aren't exactly in the best shape these days. It's not your fault, but just be patient between move requests. ht14 04:58, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
Also, hold off on the move requests at the moment. There's only so much that we can handle as administrators, and some images have higher priority than others. Also, there are many things that are occurring at the moment, such as the new TCG expansions, BW images and moves to English names, and Pokémon Adventures files. So actually, it'd be great if you don't use the {{move}} template at all right now, thanks. ht14 03:58, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
I was planning to not use the move template for at least a week or two to see if the server is going to recover. Pattyman 04:28, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Never mind, the server just recovered. I am still not using the move template yet. Pattyman 04:40, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Hey Pattyman, remember how I was talking to you about moving images? Yeah, just be patient, please. And yeah, do not touch personal images unless they have non-alphanumeric characters in the filename. Thanks. ht14 05:02, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Indeed remembered. I thought things were back to normal. So it turns out that they weren't. I wouldn't have used it if the certain problem didn't occur. One more thing, how do you become an admin (not planning to become one yet, a little too early, just wanted to know). Pattyman 05:23, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
There's a lot to clean up at the Archives. It's just that I'm not as available as I once was. Here. By requesting to be an admin however, it reduces your chances in becoming one, just thought you should know. ht14 05:36, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Yes. Becoming one is a lot of work to deal with. Not just getting certain powers. Pattyman 06:31, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Sinnoh Image

Hi Pattyman. I saw that you uploaded a new version of the Ravaged Path map, but I noticed it was a tad blurry. I was curious as to where you located the map. Maybe we could find a better version. Cheers. —darklordtrom 04:25, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

I got it from the jpg counterpart (site, unsure). If you want, someone can place the {{bad image}} template on the png version (mentioning that it is blurry). Any ideas which sites I can get these game images from so I won't waste my time on copying the jpg ones? Pattyman 05:18, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Uploading newer images

Your image File:Lilycove Map.png is identical to File:Lilycovemap.PNG. Instead of uploading it at a new name, you should upload it over the old one and add {{move}} if it has a bad filename. --SnorlaxMonster 03:16, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

I was told twice not to use the move template anymore. But still, the new image advice was helpful. Pattyman 03:50, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
You misunderstood ht. D8. Back when he asked you to not use it, there were about a constant 50+ images with the move template on it and the category was just growing. We made a group decision to not use it for a while so we could get caught up on the moves, deletions and changing, especially at a time where the server was constantly giving us 503s and 504s. It's alright to use them, it's just not when there are 50+ images with the template on it. D: --P S Yライダー 04:19, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
Oh, so that was what he told me. When you mentioned the 50 images load, are you referring to putting the move template on them in a row w/o any intermissions in between.* I noticed your name evolved. Pattyman 05:35, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
Yeah that's what I was referring to. We appreciated the effort by everyone, but the category kept getting bigger, and we had to change them on the pedia, and then remove the move template, so we kinda just said no for a while, it's alright if you do, but we'd like it to be kept to minimum and maybe help out by removing them template after we move, or at least for the others, since I remove it before I move. But yeah, that's what happened. --P S Yライダー 05:56, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
Okay, just to let you know, we know this category exists. We also know that about 1000 or so of these files need to be moved their correct names. So, I do not believe there is a need for you to place move templates on these, as this just creates 1000 or so more edits we need to make, removing the move template in addition to the 1000 or so edits we need to make on the Bulbapedia side, changing the file names. If you could focus your attention elsewhere where wouldn't notice right away that something needs to be moved, that would be appreciated. Thanks. You're doing a great job, by the way. Jellotalk 21:24, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
You're welcome. Removing it off my to-do list. I was going to put the category that needed to be moved but didn't know how [instead of placing the category on all of the images individually].Pattyman 21:34, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

Nothing too major, but

Just so you know, it's not imperative that you reupload manga scans as pngs. They're fine as they are as jpgs because the wiki doesn't screw with them like it does anime images. It also looks bad on you that you're uploading someone else's hard work. Not blockable or anything, it was kinda just a heads up for you to know. --P S Yライダー 04:05, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks and understood. From now on, I am going to leave those images alone instead of reuploading them as pngs. I can still put the move template on them (few by few, not a whole bunch if necessary). It was a lot of work for me anyway to replace them as pngs. Pattyman 04:31, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
There is absolutely no work involved in re-uploading .jpgs as .pngs. It is frowned upon. I can't believe you'd even bring that up. What about the hours and and hours people like Zesty spent scanning these images? On top of that, people like Werdnae who in addition to scanning hundreds of images, also spend time cleaning up their images to prepare them for the Archives? Give credit where credit is due. It is up to them, and only them to decide if they want re-upload their scans as .png. Jellotalk 04:44, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Were you telling this to me? ?|* Pattyman 04:52, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Yes. Jellotalk 05:00, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
So no work was involved, I thought that it was. Seeing that it took a lot of effort to upload a good image, one that is satisfactory for Bulbapedia. Pattyman 05:28, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
You're not understanding things are you? Saving a .jpg as .png does not do anything. It does not change the image. You are not doing anything to the image except saving it as a .png. That is not work. The quality of an image does not change if you directly save it as a .png from a .jpg. When you upload those .pngs the .jpgs are expected to be deleted. But you didn't scan the image did you? You didn't do anything except save it as a .png. What about the original uploader who scanned it in the first place? Jellotalk 05:35, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
I give in, I don't want to fight about this. I understand what you are telling me. I didn't scan the jpg, the original uploader did. No work was involved. I got thrown off with which images were supposed to be in png form. Now I know that manga images uploaded as jpgs are supposed to be left as what they are. Pattyman 05:50, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Regarding your Pokémon Adventures images

Is it possible that you upload higher qualities of this, File:Emerald Gardevoir Adventures.png, and File:Emerald Slaking Adventures.png? If so, next time, don't just upload an image whenever you see an appearance by a main character. I'd rather a high quality image over no image over a low quality image. ht14 03:17, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Ataro and the others took care of them. However, they had some trouble with the Slaking one as the only appropriate image for the archives was small and the bigger one didn't show Slaking that much. What do I do if I stumble across an image that has the same problem as the Slaking image and these two? Pattyman 17:43, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
Just make sure it's a decent quality. While I do prefer no image over a lower quality one, we'll just make do with what we have. If the low quality image is all we have, so be it. The examples you gave... if that's the best low quality ones out there with no high quality substitutes, then fine. ht14 23:34, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Congratulations

and welcome aboard the staff. You've got a few handy tools now, so use them well. Thanks for all the hard work you've done here over the past few months. If you have any questions feel free to bug any of us. Jellotalk 19:45, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. Pattyman 19:47, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
Congrats Patty, place nice with your new super powers :) ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 20:15, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
You meant play nice. Pattyman 02:25, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
Ooopsy... Yeah that's what I meant. Good luck ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 03:10, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Don't forget

to add a delete tag to the redirects when you move files, so someone can come around and delete it. Keep up the great work. Jellotalk 02:08, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

So that's how the redirects got deleted/blanked. The delete tag needed to be on there. Pattyman 02:22, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Hey

You're moving a bunch of images. Are you changing the links on Bulbapedia's side? You have to do that, you know... Jellotalk 20:57, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

I have been doing that as well. I wasn't sure if I should change the links for the gen 4 move images as they are going to be replaced with the Black and White move images. Thanks for looking out for me. Pattyman 21:05, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, you should be doing that. There should be no red links on the other side as a result of moving images. Also, it's best not to link to a non-existent image before it is uploaded/moved, due to some server issues that cause the image not to display even though it exists. Jellotalk 21:10, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
What do you mean by non-existent images? Pattyman 21:12, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
If you link to an image that has not yet been uploaded yet, and if you upload it later on, it will still appear as a red link even though the image has been uploaded. This is caused by some server sync issues between the Archives and Bulbapedia Jellotalk 21:16, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
I see. Also, I subst:Mv[ed] most of the move images so I can get to their pages easier. Pattyman 21:20, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Just another reminder to change the links on BP and tag the redirects with deletion tags. Thanks. --P S Yライダー 04:41, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Okay, we're running into a quite a few problems. Please stop moving images for now, and go through your contributions and check that you haven't missed any images, because I keep running into images that haven't been relinked properly and seeing red links everywhere on Bulbapedia. You need to make those changes right after you change each image. I'll let you know when you can start moving again. Thanks. Jellotalk 01:43, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Every time I try to switch over to Bulbapedia, I keep on getting logged out for no reason (the title on the page I am editing says view source). I am trying the best that I can to resolve the red link problem. Also, it says that there was a loss of session data. Pattyman 01:56, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I get those loss of session data errors too, but you gotta do what you gotta do, otherwise people complain. Just focus on this task right now before you jump ahead to something else. Thanks again. Jellotalk 02:46, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Move images

Are you checking for the ones that changed between games? That's why some, like File:Hydro Cannon DPPt.png and File:Hydro Cannon HGSS.png instead of just one named "File:Hydro Cannon IV.png". You best be checking each and every single move. MaverickNate 00:00, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

If I don't know which image to keep for the moves, I'll leave it up to you or someone else. It can be hard to decide sometimes. Pattyman 00:28, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
It is either IV or the game codes. not both. MaverickNate 00:38, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
What's with the fake images? Pattyman 00:45, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
They don't match any game. MaverickNate 00:50, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I know that fakes images are poorly designed. Am I correct? Pattyman 00:54, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I do believe so. MaverickNate 00:58, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Check the Flash Cannon moves. One of them won't be needed as I noticed that there are two. Pattyman 01:08, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
There have been a couple of problems and issues with the moves you've been doing. If the image is from Platinum, leave the summary as is and don't change it to say it's from HGSS. If the file name has IV at the end, and there's no difference between the moves between the same generation then there is absolutely no need to move it to HGSS when the screenshot is clearly from Platinum, Diamond and Pearl or whatever. In addition, we do not want duplicate files. I have run into a page where some shitty DP image was being used when there was actually a perfectly good looking Platinum image available. Again, if there's no difference in the move graphics, get rid of the duplicate, don't just move it to some other name. Please carefully look over what you're doing and moving. The naming standard is IV by default. If there is a considerable difference in the graphics of the move in the SAME generation then there can be another image for that particular game, otherwise each move should only have one image PER generation. Jellotalk 00:43, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
What DP image? The Pt and HGSS were very tricky since the screens and sprites were similar, which definitely threw me off. I moved the Flamethrower image to HGSS because there was one from Diamond and Pearl, and Roselia's sprite matched HGSS and Pt. Pattyman 01:27, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Jpgs and pngs

Umm... here's the deal... I thought you knew this... but first, upload the pngs, fix them on BP's side, then put the delete templates for the jpgs... thanks. ht14 01:14, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Wait. What are you talking about? Be a little more specific. Pattyman 01:16, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Oh wait, whoops... never mind... I meant jpg files and png files. You're doing fine. ht14 01:18, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Were there any pages that had red links (excluding user pages and talk pages)? Pattyman 01:20, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Temp. Admin

We're kind of busy with the huge sprite move right now, and we can't keep up with your moves, so here's some extra power so you can delete your own redirects. You can keep these powers until things die down and we're not so busy. Thanks. Jellotalk 04:04, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Yes yes I know you're busy with the sprites. Now, I don't have to constantly put delete tags on images that have to go. Special thanks. Pattyman 04:06, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
Uh Patty? If you click the "Leave a redirect behind" button then you won't have to delete anything it does it all by itself Ataro 04:23, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
Where is that button? Pattyman 04:36, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
Patty has normal admin powers, the sprite people have SA, and they can suppress redirects. Jellotalk 05:01, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Request

I like your pictures. Mind if I make a request? Could you please upload pictures for the missing gaps in J's henchmen's pages Pokémon template. I'd be glad if you could do that, thank you. :-) --FinnishPokéFan92 13:51, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

No problem. Uploading the missing images of the Pokémon that belong to J's henchmen.
Great work, thanks. Now, here's another one: Ash's Pikachu used an improvised "Leer" in The School of Hard Knocks, that we have a picture of already. Now, the problem is that we don't have a picture of that when Pikachu "really" used the move in Hour of the Houndour while battling a Houndour. Could you upload a picture of that? If you can, of course. --FinnishPokéFan92 15:38, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
I have uploaded a picture of Pikachu using "Leer" on behalf of your request. As an added bonus, I uploaded an image of Houndour using Leer. Pattyman 19:17, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, you're one awesome uploader! Now, could you do the following: could you upload a better version of this image and possibly also an image of Registeel using the same move (the point is that the Regirock image has low quality, but a better version of it and the picture of Registeel could be used to fill in the template on the moves page and the move templates on Brandon's Regis page (Regice already has three images, so I would like to fill Regirock and Registeel's templates as well))? And if possible, could you also upload pictures of Brandon's Regirock and Registeel using some moves, so I could fill their move templates?
Sorry if this explanation was too long, but I hope you understood it. --FinnishPokéFan92 18:53, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Ok so,

Your recent power up was so you could help with Black and White, not do other stuff. Please refrain from doing anything but the current task at hand. Thank you. --P S Yライダー 03:54, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

I tried moving some of the BW stuff but they were taken. Secondly, there were other people doing the other task as well. Where did you get the English names from for most of the Pokémon? Pattyman 12:42, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
We still have lots of work left for BW, please focus on that for now only. We're under a lot of server stress so we need to keep moving and deletions to a minimum. Our priority right now is only BW. Jellotalk 20:25, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Whoops. I was trying to do two things at once. Also, my power up is done after the BW stuff is finished. Is that right? Pattyman 20:30, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Creating Pokémon categories

Do not forget that when you add the Pokémon artwork category that you also add the Ndex number and the Pokémon name. An example may be seen here. ht14 02:36, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Having the name doesn't do anything. It's not needed. Only add the number. MaverickNate 21:25, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
How come the example above and most of the edits showed both the name and number? Pattyman 23:57, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
It's tradition to an extent. But, as Nate said, only the numbers are needed. ht14 00:32, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
I asked the question as there were two different types of directions given and it looked as if there was something wrong. No hard feelings. Pattyman 00:51, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
We shouldn't do unnecessary things just because we've always done them. It's something that should really be removed, and we might as make it so that they all don't need removed by creating them correctly. MaverickNate 02:44, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi, regarding some Pokémon moves...

I don't think this is allowed, only the Pokémon names should be used as nobody really knows/cares who Cushion might be, just thought I'd let you know. Masatoshitalk 07:55, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Moving Eyecatch

I saw that you wanted to move a few eyecatches, such as the Diglett's Cave one. I did most of the coding for that, so the image would have to be redirected for the time mechanism on each page, do I really don't think it is worth it in the long run. Just a thought. Thanks. —MasterKenobi 20:24, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Not a problem. I requested them to be moved because of the apostrophes. Pattyman 23:25, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Regarding TCG

Do not move the TCG cards please unless the cards are in English, and you know of the format the cards are in (which is File:<Pokémon name><expansion name><expansionnumber>.jpg (or whatever the extension is). There's no spacing in between. ht14 01:53, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Sorry. Pattyman 03:08, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

No more

Stop moving the anime images when you can't change them in the process. Wait until Bulbapedia is unlocked. --P S Yライダー 21:10, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Someone else started the idea of moving the images while Bulbapedia was locked and it was approved. Not trying to make up an excuse or anything, trying to be honest about this. Pattyman 21:19, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
Do you remember where you saw this? Because it should not have been approved unless the user has powers on both sites to fix the changes. --P S Yライダー 21:22, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I do. I saw it on here and another user had to go to the Bulbapedia page where the image was and change the link. Pattyman 21:40, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
That was a one time thing. Ataro did not start or approve an image move. It should come down to whether or not you can edit Bulbapedia. If you can't edit to change the links, don't move the images. It's the user's responsibility to do so. --P S Yライダー 21:52, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
ok. Things can be confusing at times, but it becomes temporary. Pattyman 21:58, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Improper tagging and various shenanigans

Hi, whereas I appreciate the hard work you're doing, you need to start checking before deciding to do what you do. First of all, this, I'm not going to object about the categories, which are correct, but about the {{move}} tag... We Don't Really Need Stuff Named Like This, it's improper grammar, the filename alone is correct. Second, this (this will be brought back to life) has no links in here, but this does, as you see, it's linked to an user page, and they still might want it, it's not really cool to delete them. Third, but related to second, this, alright, it is a jpg, but as you can see, it's being used by a crapload of users. No. Fourth, you keep on re-uploading .jpgs as .pngs, an issue you've been having a lot, try not to do that anymore. Masatoshitalk 03:25, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Doesn't grammar not count on file names (the apostrophe is not allowed on them)? As for this image, I placed the delete tag to tell someone to replace the image on the pages with the png before the jpg got deleted. I was aware of it being used. I don't know if the rule was passed but I saw other users that deleted the images that were being used by some users. Pattyman 03:39, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
For future reference, please don't go ahead and start doing something because you saw some other user doing it. If you see someone higher up doing something, it would be best to get clarification first so as to avoid any hassle. Jellotalk 21:51, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
On this page, I saw a bunch of red links. Is it okay if the images on the page get restored so the red links won't show up? Pattyman 00:40, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
